Responsibilities

Impact

• Implements operational strategies with direct impact on the objectives within the scope of responsibility
• Understands and drives optimal performance within Transport execution.
• Delivers continuous and unrelenting drive for improvement within our transport operations. Including logical role out strategies to achieve ambitious targets.
  
  

Customer / Stakeholder

• Maintaining and enhancing relations with internal stakeholders
• Is accountable to his/her direct superior for the delivery of operational and financial results
• Meets and communicates with internal stakeholders and customers where applicable on a regular basis in order to understand and fulfill their requirements
• Communicates effectively and is unafraid to address customer issues, DHL issues or people orientated issues in an open manner.
• Provides leadership support to his/her operational teams
• Provides support and coordination to peers on the implementation of company policies, programs and initiatives required of his/her involvement
• Leads from the front with having a hands-on management style, which breeds enthusiasm and respect.
  
  

Problem Complexity / Process

• Lead the Transport Management System (TMS) & Route Optimizer implementation from an operations perspective. Including the successful roll out and usage of the system.
• Be logical and data driven in understanding problems and developing practical solutions to those problems.
• Coordinates and controls the transport activities in the multiple sites as per responsibility
• Sets KPIs, targets, and goals for monitoring and evaluating operations and cost effectiveness.
• Ensures that appropriate operations-related information is correctly and efficiently stored and processed and made available at all times
• Drives and controls the effective use of the resources in order to stay within an approved budgets
• Ensures that DHL comply with prevailing legal and statutory requirements in all aspects
• Develops a culture of quality, service excellence, and cost consciousness
• Provides managerial controls over the use of all assets and equipment to ensure that they are in good working condition and sufficiently available and ready for use at all times
• Participates in safety committee initiatives - allows and supports staff to participate in safety committees as required.
• Ensures that the employees comply with the rules, regulations, instructions, orders or measures relating to work safety.
• Checks the performances of the place of operations according to the work plan, project or measures on work safety.
• Complies with company HSE policy and procedures.

• Manages staffing levels and schedules and assigns work to subordinates
• Coordinates with the HR Department in the recruitment and selection process of managerial positions
• Develops and evaluates performance targets and goals
• Identifies and supports subordinates in training and development needs

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in logistics and transport management.
• Strong understanding of logistics operations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Good command of English.
• Demonstrated leadership through effective communication and the ability to influence outcomes across multiple locations in the region.
• Strong strategic management and planning skills.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and perform effectively under pressure.
