Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Company: Retail company, a newly establishing operations in Vietnam

Position: HR Manager

Reports to: General Manager / Regional HR

About the Role

Our client is a Chinese retail company expanding into the Vietnam market. As part of our market entry, we are looking for an experienced HR Manager who will play a critical role in building and managing the Human Resources function from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on HR professional with strong knowledge of both Vietnamese labor law and international practices, as well as fluency in Chinese to liaise with HQ.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Set-up & Strategy
  • Establish the HR function for the new Vietnam entity, including policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Partner with HQ and Vietnam leadership to align HR strategy with business goals.
  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Lead recruitment for retail operations and corporate functions.
  • Build employer branding to attract top local talent.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Vietnam labor law and company regulations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations and conflict resolution.
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Design and implement competitive salary, benefits, and performance management systems.
  • Manage payroll and HR administration.
  • Learning & Development
  • Develop training programs to upskill employees and support career development.
  • Promote a strong corporate culture aligned with company values.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years HR experience, with at least 1 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in retail, FMCG, or service industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Vietnam labor law, HR practices, and local regulations.
  • Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English/Vietnamese for effective communication.
  • Proven ability to set up HR processes in a new company/start-up environment.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and cross-cultural communication skills.
