The Head of Business Development is a senior leadership position, primarily responsible for shaping and executing the company&aposs overarching revenue growth strategy. This role transcends traditional sales by focusing on market positioning, forging strategic partnerships, and leading the team to achieve significant, long-term growth. You will be the visionary, driving key business initiatives, and personally closing complex, high-value deals.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Leadership & Market Growth:
- Strategy Formulation: Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to drive revenue growth and expand market share.
- Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and assess risks to inform strategic business decisions.
- Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate and maintain high-level relationships with key partners, major clients, and industry stakeholders/influencers.
2. Lead Generation:
- Opportunity Identification: Develop and oversee the process for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities.
- Pipeline Management: Strategically manage a robust pipeline of high-value prospects, ensuring a consistent flow of potential deals.
- Market Penetration: Lead initiatives to penetrate new markets, target key accounts, and expand the company&aposs reach.
3. High-Level Deal Leadership & Negotiation:
- Major Deal Closing: Directly manage and lead the entire sales cycle for complex, high-value enterprise-level deals.
- Strategic Negotiation: Lead sophisticated commercial negotiations, handle objections, and successfully close strategic agreements.
- Value Positioning: Position and articulate the company&aposs core value proposition compellingly to a diverse audience of high-level decision-makers.
4. Team Management & Development:
- Lead by Influence: Build and lead a high-performing Business Development team by inspiring and empowering them, rather than relying on positional authority. Foster a collaborative environment where every member feels ownership and is motivated to contribute to shared goals.
- Cultivate Talent: Mentor, coach, and guide the team to help them reach their full potential. Identify individual strengths and provide opportunities for growth and skill development.

5. Strategic Account Management & Revenue Expansion:
- Relationship Management: Oversee and nurture long-term strategic client partnerships, ensuring continuous satisfaction and growth.
- Revenue Growth: Proactively identify and capitalize on opportunities for revenue expansion, including up-selling and cross-selling new services or product features.
Requirements- Experience: A minimum of 8+ years of experience in Business Development, Account Management, or a related role, with a proven track record of driving significant revenue growth. At least 3+ years in a leadership position is required.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to formulate clear business strategies, lead change, and expand into new markets.
- Network: Possess an extensive network of relationships with key partners, clients, and industry stakeholders.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in successfully managing and developing a sales/business development team.
- High-Level Negotiation: Mastery of complex commercial negotiation and deal-closing techniques.
- Proactive & Decisive: A strong 'hunter' mentality, with a relentless approach to challenges and a genuine enjoyment of client-facing interactions.
- Industry Background (Preferred): Experience in the Tech Industry, with a strong understanding of the Software Development Full Cycle, is a significant advantage.
