Tester (Data Platform)

Responsibilities

• Participate in end-to-end testing of large-scale Data projects, focusing on Data Warehouse, Data Platform, Data Integration, BI/Reporting, and data systems serving national-scale and large enterprise environments; solving complex data and Big Data challenges.
• Analyze requirements, data design documents, Data Mapping, Data Flow, and data processing workflows to develop appropriate Test Scenarios/Test Cases.
• Perform Data Quality Testing to validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity.
• Use SQL to query, validate, reconcile, and verify data.
• Identify, analyze, document, and track defects; collaborate with BA, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, PMs, and relevant stakeholders to resolve data quality issues.
• Participate in Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and UAT, and support customer acceptance activities.
• Perform API Testing and ETL/ELT Testing, including data reconciliation and validation between source and target systems; execute test scripts as required.
• Log and track defects using Jira or other project management tools, reproduce issues, and report testing progress to the PIC and Project Manager.
• Test reports, evaluate data quality, and propose solutions to improve testing efficiency and overall project quality.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Software Testing/QA; experience in Data projects is a plus (if any).
• Strong SQL skills for data querying, validation, reconciliation, and data quality testing.
• Hands-on experience in API Testing, or Data Validation.
• Experience writing test cases and test scenarios and participating throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Good understanding of SDLC/STLC and software testing techniques.
• Strong logical and analytical thinking with good problem-solving skills; able to work effectively with BA, DE, DA, PM, and other stakeholders.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently.
  
  

Preffered

• Experience testing Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Migration, Data Integration, or Data Platform projects, with knowledge of ETL/ELT, Data Pipeline, and Data Mapping.
• Experience working on projects in Government, BFSI, Aviation, Maritime, or large-scale enterprise environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of Cloud Data Platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Python, or other data processing technologies is preferred.
• Experience applying AI to software testing and a basic understanding of data security and privacy in testing
