Position: Senior / Technical Lead Java Engineer (Fluent English)

Location: Ftown, District 9, Ho Chi Minh City

Job Overview

We are looking for a Java Engineer to join our Technology team and contribute to the development of scalable, secure, and reliable backend services that power Amplify Health's products and platforms. Working within a cloud-native environment, the successful candidate will participate across the full software development lifecycle, delivering high-quality solutions while collaborating with Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and business teams. The role requires a strong hands-on engineering mindset, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java-based backend applications, APIs and microservices.

• Implement technical specifications using Java, Spring Boot and related frameworks.

• Develop clean, scalable and maintainable code aligned with engineering standards and best practices.

• Design and maintain data models, database components and integration services.

• Build and support RESTful APIs, system integrations and cloud-native applications.

• Perform unit, integration and performance testing to ensure solution quality and reliability.

• Investigate, troubleshoot and provide support for application and production issues.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate with Architects, Business Analysts, QA, DevOps and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Support CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, monitoring and operational readiness activities.

• Work independently to deliver features, resolve technical challenges and support project objectives while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders throughout delivery and support.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
5+ years of experience developing Java backend applications and services.
Strong proficiency in Java (Java 11/17+), Spring Boot, Hibernate and SQL.
Experience developing microservices, RESTful APIs and enterprise system integrations.
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle.
Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or CosmosDB.
Experience with messaging platforms such as Confluent Kafka is an advantage.
Experience with rules and workflow engines such as Drools and Camunda is an advantage.
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with automated testing, code reviews and Agile delivery methodologies.
Understanding of application security, compliance and secure development best practices.
Ability to deliver independently, proactively solve technical challenges, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience in HealthTech, Health Insurance or other regulated industries is an advantage.
