Job Description

About the Role

CT Modulex is a pioneer in developing and manufacturing industrialized, smart robot housing and modular solutions for international markets. We are seeking a Senior Architect – R&D to spearhead architectural design and technical development for our advanced foldable and modular housing product lines.

In this role, you will bridge market demands and high-end aesthetics with industrial manufacturability, ensuring seamless cross-disciplinary coordination with structural, mechanical, MEP, automation, and plant assembly teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architectural Leadership & Product Development

  • Lead the development of design concepts, layouts, form, facades, interior/exterior finishes, and user experiences for modular and smart foldable homes.
  • Translate client and market requirements into concrete design briefs, design criteria, and evaluated architectural alternatives.
  • Standardize architectural design languages, dimensional modularity, and family components to maximize reuse across product configurations.

2. Technical Documentation, BIM & Quality Control

  • Prepare and oversee full architectural packages from concept and basic design to comprehensive technical sets ready for manufacturing, assembly, and inspection.
  • Develop 3D/BIM models, architectural working drawings, schedules (doors, windows, materials/finishes), and technical specifications.
  • Manage cross-checking processes: enforce strict control over dimensions, elevations, tolerances, revisions, and release states.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to assigned architects and design staff.

3. Multi-Disciplinary Integration & DFMA (Design for Manufacture & Assembly)

  • Coordinate with Structural, Mechanical, Panel, MEP, and Mechatronics/Controls teams to resolve interfaces among frames, panels, openings, and folding mechanisms.
  • Lead clash reviews and design review workshops; drive issues to closure with documented engineering evidence.
  • Apply DFMA principles to streamline parts counts, optimize tolerances, and refine assembly sequences for factory fabrication and site deployment.
  • Validate designs against real-world logistics constraints: containerization, hoisting, folding/unfolding cycles, and packaging.

4. Materials, Building Performance & Detailing

  • Select and standardize building materials suited to harsh climates, coastal/high-humidity environments, and international destination markets.
  • Develop detailing for waterproofing, thermal/acoustic insulation, fire protection, and joint durability at building interfaces.
  • Establish visual inspection criteria, evaluate material submittals, and review supplier mock-ups.

5. Prototyping, Validation & Standards Compliance

  • Track physical prototype fabrication and assembly; identify deviations between design and reality, updating as-built documentation promptly.
  • Establish Verification & Validation (V&V) criteria covering layout functionality, weather-tightness, folding performance, and ergonomics.
  • Reference and integrate relevant local and international building codes, specifically the NCC/BCA and applicable AS/NZS standards.

Candidate Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture. Professional architectural practice certificate is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of architectural design experience, including at least 2 years in a Senior, Lead, or Job Captain capacity.
  • Proven track record taking designs from initial concept through technical documentation and physical execution.
  • Strong preference for experience in modular/prefab housing, container structures, high-end hospitality/resort units, or industrialized building products.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (BIM modeling, technical drafting, detail libraries).
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and visualization using SketchUp along with tools such as V-Ray, D5 Render, Lumion, or Enscape.
  • Familiarity with Navisworks/BIM coordination workflows is a distinct advantage.
  • Solid understanding of building physics (waterproofing, fire resistance, insulation) and DFMA principles.

Language & Communication: Strong technical English proficiency (reading codes/specifications and communicating with international partners/clients).

Mindset: Strong aesthetic judgment, manufacturing-oriented mindset, collaborative attitude, and willingness to work at the factory/prototype floor when required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: Competitive and negotiable based on experience and capability.
  • Benefits: Full statutory social insurances plus CT Group's 360° comprehensive employee welfare program.
  • Allowances: Lunch, mobile communication, and business travel allowances per company policy.
  • Environment: Direct participation in pioneering smart robotics and modular housing R&D with clear opportunities for professional growth in an advanced multi-disciplinary environment.
