Position: Senior Project Manager

Location: Thao Dien, Ho Chi Minh City (Onsite)

JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of medium to large-scale software projects, primarily under Fixed Price and Milestone-based engagement models. The role is accountable for project profitability, delivery quality, schedule adherence, resource optimization, and customer satisfaction.

As the delivery owner, the Senior PM is expected to proactively manage project scope, budget, risks, and commercial aspects while driving cross-functional teams to achieve business and delivery objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Delivery Management

• Lead the full project lifecycle from project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, deployment, to project closure.
• Build comprehensive project plans including scope, timeline, milestones, resource allocation, budget, and risk management.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with expected quality standards.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with different priorities and stakeholders.
• Monitor project health using KPIs including Schedule Variance, Budget Variance, Productivity, Quality and Customer Satisfaction.

2. Fixed Price Project & Cost Management

• Own project financial performance throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Plan and control project budgets, resource utilization and delivery costs to achieve targeted project margin.
• Monitor actual effort against planned effort and proactively identify budget overruns.
• Collaborate with Sales, Delivery and Finance teams on project estimation, pricing validation and delivery feasibility.
• Drive productivity improvement initiatives to maximize project profitability.
• Manage project Change Requests (CRs), evaluate commercial impacts, and negotiate additional scope with customers.
• Ensure project financial reports are updated accurately throughout execution.

3. Scope, Risk & Change Management

• Control project scope and prevent scope creep.
• Identify project risks, dependencies and issues proactively.
• Develop mitigation and contingency plans.
• Escalate critical issues appropriately while driving resolution.
• Manage assumptions, constraints and project governance.

4. Stakeholder & Client Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during project execution.
• Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders.
• Facilitate Steering Committee meetings, project reviews and executive reporting.
• Manage customer expectations while balancing delivery capability and commercial objectives.
• Handle escalations professionally and maintain high customer satisfaction.

5. Cross-functional Leadership

• Lead cross-functional teams including BA, Developers, QA, DevOps, UI/UX and Product teams.
• Drive collaboration and accountability across project members.
• Remove delivery blockers and ensure effective communication.
• Mentor junior PMs and support continuous improvement within the Delivery organization.

6. Delivery Governance & Process Improvement

• Ensure compliance with project governance, SDLC and internal delivery standards.
• Review project documentation, project metrics and delivery performance.
• Promote Agile best practices while adapting Waterfall when appropriate.
• Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement across projects.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience

• At least 5–8 years of experience in Software Project Management.
• Minimum 3 years managing Fixed Price software projects with budgets and delivery teams of 10+ members.
• Proven experience managing projects from pre-sales handover through production deployment.
• Strong experience in budget management, effort tracking and project profitability.
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers.
• Experience in CRM, Loyalty, SaaS, Fintech, Banking, Digital Platform or Enterprise Software projects is highly preferred.

Technical & Business Knowledge

• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Solid knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies.
• Familiar with estimation techniques (Story Points, Function Points, Work Breakdown Structure, etc.).
• Understanding of software architecture and modern cloud-based systems is an advantage.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and assess delivery impacts.
