Position Project Manager cum Presales / Solution Consultant

Business Unit Energy Business (Oil & Gas, Power, Industrial)

Reports to Board of Directors

Key stakeholders Account Manager, Tech Lead / Solution Architect, Delivery team, technology partners (Siemens, Yokogawa, Schneider, AVEVA, Cognite...)

Location Hanoi (travel as required by project needs)

  • Purpose of Role

Own business opportunities end-to-end: from translating market needs into sellable solutions and proposals, through to directly managing project delivery against schedule, quality and cost. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the role bridges Commercial – Technology – Delivery, contributing to both the technical win rate and the delivery margin of the Energy business.

  • Key Responsibilities

2.1. Presales & Solution

Requirement discovery and clarification for opportunities in the energy and industrial sectors.

Develop solution concepts and technical proposals; respond to RFPs/RFQs.

Scope definition and estimation (effort, resources, budget) — leveraging hands-on delivery experience.

Assess opportunity feasibility (technical qualification).

Prepare and lead demos/POCs.

Present solutions and handle technical clarification throughout commercial negotiations.

2.2. Delivery Management

Ensure a seamless transition from proposal to delivery; confirm scope, assumptions and constraints before project kick-off.

Build the project plan: WBS, timeline, milestones, resource plan and budget.

Coordinate cross-functional project teams (BA, Solution Architect, Dev, QA, on-site deployment).

Manage schedule, quality and cost; report regularly to the Board of Directors.

2.3. Scope, Risk & Commercial

Manage scope and change requests; assess impact on effort, cost and schedule.

Identify, track and resolve risks and issues; escalate to the Board of Directors in a timely manner.

Manage contracts, acceptance and milestone-based payments.

Manage dependencies with technology partners and subcontractors.

Ensure compliance with processes, quality standards and safety requirements when deploying in industrial environments.

2.4. Solution Foundation & Ownership

Build a reusable solution framework for the Energy business; standardise proposals/templates and document use cases.

Build an industry and solution knowledge base.

Research suitable technologies/partners; drive partner technical enablement as the technical focal point with vendors.

Own one or more solution domains; contribute to building the Energy solution portfolio and standardising architecture across solution lines.

Consolidate lessons learned from projects to refine estimation and improve the offering.

Requirements

Solution consulting / enterprise presales: requirement analysis, solution architecture, proposal development.

Experience managing software/system projects in an enterprise environment; solid command of project management methodologies (Waterfall/Agile/Hybrid).

Budget, contract and negotiation management skills.

Presentation and communication skills with C-level and business stakeholders.

Understanding of the Energy / Industrial / Oil & Gas / Power domains and related OT–IT systems.

Ability to work with technology/solution partners (Siemens, Yokogawa, Schneider, AVEVA, Cognite...).

Ability to work independently and proactively — the role reports directly to the Board of Directors and is accountable for the results of the Energy business.

Preferred

PMP or an equivalent project management certification.

Prior involvement in system integration or industrial digitalisation projects.

Ability to operate across the full cycle: business requirement solution proposal commercial closing delivery lessons learned.
