Product Engineer

Role Overview

As a Product Engineer, you own complete application and infrastructure solutions from design through production. You design, build, and run the platform. You test what you build, and you keep it running.

We run several engagement models: monthly retainer, time and materials, fixed price with capped hours, and fixed price. Across all of them the client directs prioritization on an ongoing basis, and requirements get worked out through iteration rather than settled up front. Your work reaches real users quickly, and you hear what they think of it.

What You'll Own

• Design, architect, implement, test, and maintain systems that are secure, scalable, and reliable across their entire lifecycle
• Own the quality of your own work: write and maintain the automated tests for what you build, and verify it against the acceptance criteria before it reaches review
• Automate provisioning, scaling, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, and build and optimize CI/CD pipelines
• Apply security best practices across development, infrastructure, and operations, and proactively raise risks you spot
• Take full responsibility for what you ship, including production stability and defect resolution
• Respond to feedback and adapt what you build as user needs evolve
• Set the standard through your own work: raise code quality, review peers work constructively, and share what you learn with the team
• Create reusable components, documentation, and processes that make the team work efficiently
• Contribute to client conversations, explaining technical trade-offs in plain language

Requirements

• Strong professional experience building and shipping full-stack applications
• Translate product requirements into structured, well-defined Jira tickets
• Write and maintain automated tests for the code you ship
• Proficient with AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery without compromising code quality
• Practical CI/CD experience, from pipeline design through production deployment
• Experience monitoring, debugging, and supporting live production systems
• Working knowledge of application and infrastructure security fundamentals
• High discipline and proactive communication in a distributed team
• Available during core collaboration hours, 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM Pacific Time, Monday to Friday

Nice to Have

• Prior technical leadership or mentoring experience, with interest in growing into a Team Lead role
• Experience integrating LLM-based features, voice AI, or chatbots in applications
