Platform Engineer

Position Summary

You build and operate the platform other engineering teams depend on to ship. At the Middle level, you build and extend CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code within an established platform architecture. At the Senior level, you also design the developer-platform architecture from scratch, own reliability practices (SLOs, incident response), and decide what should be self-service versus centrally managed.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the internal developer platform (CI/CD, environments, self-service tooling) other teams build on.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure as code (Terraform) across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Operate and evolve container orchestration (Kubernetes) for multi-team, production environments.
• Own observability: implement logging, metrics, and tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) so teams can self-diagnose issues.
• Drive reliability practices: SLOs, incident response, and root-cause postmortems.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks to reduce toil for product engineering teams.
• (Senior) Own the developer-platform architecture end-to-end and set the SLOs and incident-response process the org runs on.
  
  

Qualifications

• English: fluent with good verbal and written communication - writes runbooks and incident postmortems clear enough for an international on-call engineer to act on at 3am.
• 3+ years (Middle) to 6+ years (Senior) in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles.
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform) and hands-on Kubernetes in production.
• Scripting proficiency (Python, Go, or Bash) for tooling and automation, not just shell one-liners.
• Production experience with at least one major cloud provider at real scale.
• Understanding of security fundamentals (IAM, network policies, secrets management).
• AI-assisted operations as daily practice: uses AI coding assistants for IaC and scripting, and applies AI-assisted log analysis to speed up incident triage.
• (Senior) Track record of designing a developer platform or SLO/incident-response process from scratch.
