Plant Operations General Manager (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall operations management of the Vietnam plant, coordinating core functions including production, quality control, R&D, supply chain, and EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety), ensuring safe, efficient, and stable operations while achieving all business targets.
  • Lead the establishment and optimization of the plant management system and processes, introducing and implementing advanced management concepts such as lean manufacturing and continuous improvement to enhance overall operational maturity.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency through process optimization, technical upgrades, and team empowerment, consistently improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), per capita output, and reducing operational costs.
  • Manage the industrialization of new products and processes, leading R&D projects from the laboratory stage to scaled production, ensuring efficient transformation of technological achievements into production capacity.
  • As the highest-ranking plant leader, report directly to the company Chairman, participate in formulating and executing corporate strategies, and lead the team in achieving business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of production and operations management experience in the chemical or related manufacturing industries (experience in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, paints/inks/adhesives, leather/textiles, or daily chemicals is highly preferred). Vietnamese candidates will be given priority.
  • Professional Skills: Proficient in chemical production processes, technical expertise, quality control, and EHS management. Strong leadership, cross-departmental coordination, and complex problem-solving abilities.
  • Project Resources: Possess technical or market resources in the fine chemicals sector; candidates who can bring collaborative projects will be given significant priority.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English as a working language is preferred. Strong communication skills in both Chinese and English are advantageous.
  • Site Development Capability: Experience in greenfield project setup (0-1 plant establishment) is a strong plus.
  • Personal Attributes: Results-driven with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and strategic mindset, capable of adapting to challenges in a fast-paced environment and leading team transformation.

Work Location

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (within 20 km of the city center).
