Vietnam Children's Fund Social Enterprise (VCF SE) is dedicated to addressing the social challenges faced by underprivileged children, women, and marginalized communities in Vietnam. The VCF SE enterprise model is designed to market and sell products that are environmentally safe, produced under fair trade conditions, and ultimately improve medical, health and education challenges. Donations are accepted and added to 100% of all profits to invest in the implementation of healthcare and education initiatives. Role Overview:
The Managing Director of Vietnam Children's Fund Social Enterprise will lead the organization in achieving its mission and vision. That vision is a Vietnam with an economically thriving, fully inclusive, healthy, and well-educated citizenry. The mission is to purchase, process, sell, and profit by devoting all resources to provide programs that achieve the vision. The MD role will encompass strategic leadership, operational oversight, financial management, stakeholder engagement, and organizational development. Working closely with the Owner, management and other stakeholders, the MD will drive growth, development, and programmatic expansion while upholding the organization's commitment to integrity, transparency, major social impact and sustainability.
The ideal candidate will bring strong business acumen and entrepreneurial leadership, with demonstrated experience in commercial operations, marketing, retail or fashion-related industries, financial management, and organizational growth within mission-driven or socially impactful environments.
Responsibilities:
1 - Strategic Leadership and Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Owner, other team leaders, and stakeholders to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with VCF SE's mission and objectives and ensure the company's profitability.
- Provide strategic advice and support to the Owner and Leadership Team on all matters relating to the company's viability in the marketplace.
- Contribute innovative ideas and proposals for the stakeholder consideration and approval to drive the organization forward.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to ensure alignment between government regulations, strategic goals, operational plans, and resource allocation and coordinate with other synchronous activities.
- Identify opportunities for sustainable growth, market expansion, and long-term commercial viability aligned with VCF SE's social mission.
2 - Operational Oversight:
- Oversee day-to-day business operations to ensure profitability and the effective and efficient delivery of social programs.
- Provide guidance and support to program teams, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, government guidelines and regional strategies.
- Implement quality assurance measures to maintain high standards across all program outputs.
- Partner with other like-minded SE's, INGO's, and local charitable organizations, including procurement, sells and distribution of assets to achieve social goals.
- Monitor profitability, financial performance, and operational sustainability through effective forecasting and strategic financial planning.
3 - Financial Management:
- Develop, communicate, and support performance budgets/pro-forma in collaboration with management and other relevant stakeholders.
- Bring expertise in sourcing, retail sales, merchandising, marketing, online business and inventory control.
- Provide input and recommendations to management on social use of profits to be used in conjunction with fundraising projects and other financial sustainability efforts.
- Ensure compliance with VAS financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Implement digital business systems to ensure reporting accuracy and appropriate management analysis tools.
- Monitor profitability, operational sustainability, cost efficiency, and financial performance, including forecasting and strategic financial planning to support long-term organizational growth.
4 - Stakeholder Engagement:
- Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with customers, stakeholders, partners, donors, and government agencies.
- Represent VCF SE in various forums, conferences, and events to raise awareness and garner support for our initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Owner and other leaders to communicate impact and engage a broad audience of stakeholders.
- Work with the fashion community and be well-versed in dealing with KOLs and fashion products.
- Strengthen VCF SE's branding, marketing, and public engagement to support visibility and commercial sustainability.
5 - Development/Fundraising:
- Lead efforts to enhance organizational capacity and effectiveness in collaboration with the Owner and partners.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to the Leadership Team on matters relating to social programming and operations.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the company.
- Support the Public Engagement and Development departments in their consultative roles.
- Promote alignment between commercial sustainability and VCF SE's social impact mission.
6 - Other responsibilities: As required by the Owner and/or the Board of Directors.

Specific Requirements
- Professional proficiency in both Vietnamese and English.
- Degree-level qualification or substantial relevant experience in business, retail, fashion, marketing, finance, social enterprise, or related fields.
- Excellent understanding of key issue areas, including healthcare, education, and community development.
- Significant senior leadership experience in business operations, retail, fashion, social enterprise, or related sectors.
- Proven experience in commercial growth, branding, sales, merchandising, and customer engagement.
- Strong experience in financial management, operational planning, and organizational sustainability.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholder relationships.
