IQC and Lab Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical IQC and Lab Engineer to join our quality control team in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting First Article inspection, under incoming quality control inspections, performing laboratory testing, and ensuring that all products meet our stringent quality standards. You will work collaboratively with Sourcing, Engineering , production and quality teams to maintain the highest levels of product quality and compliance.

Key Skills required for this position are :

• Engineering Document Interpretation: Read and cross-reference Gerber files, CAD layouts, assembly drawings, and the Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Component Knowledge: Identify surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole parts, package types, values, tolerances, polarities, and chip markings.
• Industry Standards: Apply manufacturing and inspection criteria from guidelines likeIPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies).

Other requirement under this position are :

• Conduct incoming quality control (IQC) inspections, FAI on raw materials, components, and finished products using established testing procedures and protocols
• Perform laboratory analysis and testing procedures to verify product specifications and quality requirements
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring proper calibration and functionality
• Document, analyze, and interpret test results, identifying trends and potential quality issues
• Prepare detailed technical reports and quality documentation for internal and external stakeholders
• Investigate quality discrepancies and non-conformances, performing root cause analysis when necessary
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality-related issues
• Maintain organized laboratory records and ensure proper storage of samples and test data
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing procedures and efficiency

Qualifications

• Knowledge of calibration management and measurement equipment control.
• Experience with laboratory and inspection equipment.
• Good knowledge of PCB inspection and IPC standards.
• Familiar with FAI process, drawing/specification review, CTQ identification, and inspection documentation.
• Experience in IQC/QA inspection and supplier quality is preferred.
• Proven experience in incoming quality control (IQC) or quality assurance (QA) roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Hands-on experience with laboratory testing procedures and equipment operation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods
• Knowledge of quality control methodologies and best practices
• Familiarity with quality management systems and ISO standards
• Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or quality management software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Preferred: Experience with root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) procedures
• Preferred: Knowledge of calibration procedures and measurement systems analysis
• Preferred: Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements and industry standards
