Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic professional to lead the Fixed Income & Currency (FIC) Trading desk at a leading foreign bank in Vietnam. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing trading strategies, managing risks, and driving revenue growth, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Fixed Income & Currency Trading team, covering government bonds, corporate bonds, FX spot, forwards, swaps, and other relevant products.
- Develop and implement trading strategies to optimize profitability while maintaining prudent risk management.
- Build strong relationships with local and international counterparties, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee daily trading activities, ensuring compliance with both local regulations and global standards.
- Monitor market trends, macroeconomic developments, and regulatory changes to identify new opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
- Collaborate with Sales, Research, and Risk Management teams to support client needs and deliver integrated solutions.
- Mentor and develop junior traders, building a high-performing and sustainable team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, or related field (Masters/CFA preferred).
- Minimum 1012 years of experience in fixed income and FX trading, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of Vietnams financial markets and regulatory environment, combined with international market exposure.
- Proven track record in managing P&L, developing trading strategies, and achieving revenue targets.
- Excellent risk management skills with the ability to balance growth and compliance.
- Strong leadership qualities: decisive, energetic, strategic thinker, and results-driven.
- Fluency in English; Vietnamese proficiency is an advantage but not mandatory.
