About The Opportunity

On behalf of our client, Sunbytes is hiring a Civil Engineer – Infrastructure Design to join an international engineering consultancy in Ho Chi Minh City. The role focuses on the design and delivery of civil and urban infrastructure projects across roads, drainage, sewer systems, water supply, earthworks and utilities.

You will take ownership of engineering calculations, hydraulic and hydrological analysis, technical reporting, design coordination and quality control to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop civil and urban infrastructure projects, including roads/highways, drainage networks, sewer systems, water supply pipelines, earthworks and utilities.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations covering hydraulics, hydrology, earthworks, road geometry/pavement considerations and sewer systems.
• Design and analyse stormwater drainage and sanitary sewer systems using manual calculations and hydraulic modelling tools such as SWMM, MIKE Urban, Bentley solutions or equivalent.
• Review and validate technical calculations to ensure accuracy, efficiency and compliance with applicable standards.
• Prepare calculation reports and technical justifications to support design decisions and authority/client submissions.
• Apply value engineering and cost-effective design approaches while maintaining technical quality and constructability.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, consultants and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support tendering activities, including BOQs, cost estimates and technical proposals; provide construction/site support and technical solutions when required.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and contribute to quality control across project deliverables
  
  

Requirements

1. Technical Competencies & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3–9 years of relevant experience in civil/urban infrastructure design, with hands-on ownership of design and engineering calculations.
• Strong experience in roads, drainage, utilities and urban development projects.
• Strong background in civil works, hydraulics and sewage/stormwater drainage systems is essential.
• Practical experience with hydraulic/hydrological analysis and modelling; experience with SWMM, MIKE Urban, Bentley hydraulic tools or equivalent is highly relevant.
• Solid understanding of international standards, codes and construction practices.
• Experience in international projects, preferably across EU, US, Australia/New Zealand or Singapore markets, is an advantage.
