Balancing Control Associate - Operations, Shopee

1. Balancing Control:

• Monitor and consolidate balancing performance across Fin-Ops processes.
• Perform regular control and review of balancing results, identifying discrepancies, abnormal trends and potential operational risks.
• Consolidate outstanding issues and follow up with process owners to ensure timely resolution.
• Develop and maintain control reports, trackers and performance dashboards to provide visibility of overall balancing status.
• Identify recurring issues and root causes, and propose preventive actions to strengthen operational controls.
• Provide regular balancing updates and key insights to Fin-Ops management.

2. Project & Process Improvement:

• Coordinate projects to automate, optimize and simplify Fin-Ops processes.
• Identify manual, repetitive or inefficient processes and propose scalable solutions through automation, system enhancement or process redesign.
• Work with relevant stakeholders to define requirements, solution approach, timeline and expected impact.
• Coordinate UAT/testing, implementation and post-launch monitoring to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Track project progress, risks, blockers and outcomes, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

3. SOP & Process Governance

• Review, develop and maintain SOPs, guidelines and process documentation across Fin-Ops.
• Standardize processes and controls to improve consistency and reduce operational risks.
• Ensure process changes and project implementations are properly reflected in relevant SOPs and guidelines.
• Identify gaps between actual operations and documented processes and drive necessary improvements.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Fin-Ops sub-teams, as well as Finance, Operations, Product, Legal, Tax, Risk,...team
• Consolidate inputs from multiple stakeholders and drive alignment on process improvements and project implementation.
• Act as a central coordinator for selected Fin-Ops initiatives.

• 1â€3 years of experience in Project Management, Business Operations, Finance Operations, Process Improvement or related fields.
• Experience in reconciliation / balancing, payment or financial operations.
• Experience driving automation, process optimization or system enhancement projects.
• Experience with dashboard or data visualization tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies, trends and root causes from data.
• Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and comfortable working with large operational datasets.
• Good understanding of process management and operational controls.
• Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and drive actions to completion.
• High attention to detail and strong sense of ownership.
• Good stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Interest or hands-on experience in AI / automation.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
