JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Backbase Production Support Engineer, you will help keep a live Backbase digital banking platform stable and available. You will investigate and resolve backend issues in production, communicate directly with the client in English, and work closely with development, infrastructure, and vendor teams.

You will be responsible for:

Monitoring and supporting Backbase-based digital banking applications in production, ensuring stability, availability, and performance.
Investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving backend incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
Performing root-cause analysis and implementing or proposing permanent fixes.
Analyzing logs, APIs, and database data to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues.
Communicating incident status, impact, and resolution clearly to the client and stakeholders in English.
Triaging incoming issues and coordinating tasks across the support team when needed, tracking them through to resolution.
Supporting releases, deployments, and post-release verification in production.
Maintaining runbooks, known-issue logs, and support documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement of support processes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must-have

At least 4 years of experience as a Backend Developer, with strong Java / Spring Boot skills.
Hands-on experience with Backbase (development and/or production support).
Backbase certification (e.g., Backbase Backend Developer certification).
Experience in troubleshooting and supporting live production systems.
Good understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and SQL databases.
Good English communication skills (spoken and written) for daily work with international clients.

Nice-to-have

Experience coordinating a team: triaging issues, assigning tasks, and following up on delivery.
Experience in production support for banking or financial services systems.
Experience with log and monitoring tools (e.g., ELK/Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace).
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
Experience with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, ActiveMQ).
Knowledge of ITIL incident, problem, and change management processes.
