ABOUT GEEK UP
GEEK Up is a Trusted Product Partner collaborating with Digital Innovators to craft pioneering digital solutions. We specialize in end-to-end product development, from strategic consulting to building dedicated product teams, with a steadfast focus on creating impactful products. Our core belief lies in the power of the Product Mindset and Agile Adaptation within a Co-Creation Partnership Model.
At GEEK Up, every collaboration is built on transparency, empathy-driven design, and continuous innovation. We take pride in fostering a supportive environment where our team and partners work together to turn complex challenges into sustainable digital value.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Deals rarely fail because of a weak proposal. They fail because a sponsor goes quiet, a new decision maker appears without warning, or two stakeholders stop agreeing and nobody notices in time.
The Account Manager at GEEK Up is the Relationship Keeper during the deal. Your job is to keep the client relationship healthy while an opportunity moves from first business discussions to contract signing, giving our sales, consulting and proposal teams a stable environment to do their best work.
In this role, you will:
- Own relationship continuity: coordinate stakeholders and give early warning when a relationship is at risk.
- Work alongside the deal owner: our Partnership Development team drives the opportunity and commercial strategy, and you make sure the relationship supports it.
The client should always know who their main relationship contact at GEEK Up is. During the deal, that person is you.
1. Key Responsibilities- Stakeholder Mapping: Build and maintain a clear picture of the client's decision-making system, from executive sponsors and final decision makers to domain leads, senior experts, and gatekeepers in Legal, Procurement and Finance. Identify new stakeholders, map their influence and roles, and keep the map current as the deal progresses.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Maintain regular, transparent contact with key stakeholders. Understand what each one cares about: their motivations, concerns, and what they personally need from the initiative. Build the trust that makes stakeholders respond quickly and share internal context.
- Relationship Signal Monitoring: Observe and interpret signals from the client organization, such as shifting sentiment, changes in alignment, internal politics, or a new decision maker entering the process. When trust weakens or misalignment appears, raise it early to the deal owner, with context, so the team can adjust its strategy.
- Communication Continuity: Keep communication smooth between GEEK Up and client stakeholders between meetings. Clarify expectations, close follow-up loops, and make sure no commitment gets lost.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the relationship link for the client team, keep account insights and stakeholder information up to date; share stakeholder insights, flag relationship risks, and support opportunity discussions;: connect consultants with the right stakeholders and support alignment conversations; clarify stakeholder expectations and check proposal assumptions against the client's real situation.
- Documentation Discipline: Maintain stakeholder maps, account context notes, relationship health tracking, and meeting follow-up notes.
- Stakeholder Engagement Stability: Stakeholders respond quickly, stay engaged throughout the deal, and remain aligned as it moves forward.
- Stakeholder Network Growth: Stakeholders introduce you to more people in their organization and share internal insights that help the team.
- Early Risk Detection: Relationship risks such as weakening trust, misalignment, political conflict, or dissatisfaction are raised before they become deal blockers.
- Low Relationship Friction: Coordination between the GEEK Up team and client stakeholders stays smooth throughout the deal.
- Documentation Quality: Stakeholder maps and account notes are current, accurate, and useful to the wider client team.
- Experience: 5+ years in Account Management, Client Relationship, or Client Service for professional services, IT services, or digital agencies. Must have hands-on experience managing client relationships during the pre-sales phase, from pitching through deal closing, on B2B deals with multiple stakeholders and multi-month sales cycles.
- Stakeholder Reading: Strong ability to read people and organizations: who decides, who influences, who blocks, and what each one actually wants. Comfortable navigating internal politics without taking sides.
- Relationship Building: Builds trust through consistency and follow-through. Communicates transparently with both senior executives and working-level experts.
- Team Player: Supports the deal owner and the wider team. Knows when to escalate an issue, and to whom.
- Product Partnership Understanding: Understands, or is eager to learn, how a product partnership differs from traditional outsourcing, and can reinforce GEEK Up's positioning as a Product Partner in every client interaction.
- Discipline: Highly organized in documenting follow-ups, updating stakeholder information, and tracking relationship health.
- Language: Professional English for client communication.
- Nice to have: Experience with enterprise or BFSI clients; familiarity with Agile or product development.
