Video Host & Producer

The role

We're looking for a Video Host & Producer to be the face of AhaSlides on video, wherever that video goes. We give you the topics; you decide how each one becomes something worth watching, then write it, host it and get it published. Our editor cuts and animates - you own everything up to the handoff, and you sign off before anything goes live.

Some of it is a six-minute tutorial. A lot of it is a 20-second vertical clip for TikTok, Reels or Shorts. These are different crafts and you need both - if you think short-form is beneath you, this is the wrong job. You'll be speaking on camera to our audience in the US, UK and Australia - teachers, trainers, event hosts and team leads - working day to day with the growth and content team, product and our video editor. This is a new role, and it is not a pure on-camera one: you own the idea, the script, the shoot and the publish.

Job scope

• Host on camera - front most of what we publish: tutorials, walkthroughs, announcements and short-form; voiceover where no face is needed
• Write the scripts - mostly for yourself, sometimes for a guest or customer; hook in the first five seconds for long-form and the first second for vertical; one idea per video, plain language, written to be spoken
• Shoot for every format - long-form, vertical for TikTok / Reels / Shorts, square for LinkedIn / Facebook, and silent-autoplay versions that work on captions alone; shot for the format, not cropped into it afterwards
• Run production - run the shoot, lighting, audio, framing and self-direction, plus clean product screen recordings, so footage arrives usable rather than fixed in post
• Own the handoff and review - deliver labelled files, a shot list, selected takes, timestamps and an edit brief the editor can work from without a call; give one consolidated round of notes and sign off before publish
• Publish and package - write titles, thumbnails, descriptions, captions, playlists, hooks and hashtags tailored to each platform

Must-have requirements

• Proven on-camera hosting experience - a portfolio that includes at least one vertical video and at least one longer than three minutes
• Fluent in short-form, and you actually watch it - you can say why one TikTok works and the next one dies
• Able to take a one-line topic and return something worth watching - the angle, the script and the delivery
• Hands-on production skills - lighting, audio, framing, self-directing and clean screen recordings
• Quick to learn software - able to explain a product correctly having learned it that week
• Comfortable and natural on camera, including unscripted
• Deep familiarity with US / UK / Australian workplace and classroom culture - you know what a corporate trainer finds useful, what a teacher finds patronising, and which jokes travel
• Organised in a way other people can see - files named, calendar current, briefs written down
• Native-level spoken and written English

Nice-to-have

These are a plus, not a requirement - please apply even if you don't tick them.

• Rough-cut editing in CapCut / Premiere - enough to ship a vertical yourself the same day
• SaaS or B2B product marketing experience
• A second language: Spanish / Portuguese / Vietnamese
