Underwriting Analyst

Requirement

Underwriting strategy and Credit policy:

• Analyze and continuously improve underwriting strategies, credit policies, and decision rules for lending products.
• Monitor performance and effectiveness of existing underwriting rules and actively identify opportunities for optimization.
• Propose changes to credit policies, underwriting rules, approval criteria, and customer segmentation based on data analysis
• Conduct pre and post-implementation to evaluate the effectiveness of policy and rule changes.

Risk performance and Data analytics:

• Monitor key underwriting and credit risk metrics across different customer segments, products, acquisitions channel, and vintages.
• Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify unusual movements or potential issues in underwriting performance.
• Independently extract, validate, and analyze large datasets using SQL.
• Ability to translate analytical findings into clear and actionable business recommendations.

Underwriting projects:

• Lead or independently manage underwriting-related projects from problem definition to implementation.
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, Collection, and Business teams to implement underwriting improvements.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years in lending/ fintech/ consumer-finance product, with hands-on exposure to unsecured cash loan, card or BNPL.
• Experience in underwriting/policy, credit lifecycle, or partner-distribution / embedded-finance channels.
• Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, including expertise in statistical analysis and risk modeling.
• Working knowledge of SQL and proficiency in Excel are required. In addition, mastery in other database management software will be highly appreciated.
• Strong analytical skills as proven from previous projects.
• Innovative and adaptable, with a proven ability to meet evolving business challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present insights to diverse audiences.
• Thrives in fast-paced settings, delivering consistent results under pressure.
• Fluency in English is a must.
