Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead meetings with suppliers to resolve technical issues related to materials, parts, components, and product quality.
• Qualify and evaluate new suppliers based on produce quality, technical, and manufacturing requirements.
• Conduct annual supplier audits, develop and publish audit checklists, and monitor suppliers corrective and improvement action plans.
• Conduct on-site supplier visits to perform root cause analysis and verify the effectiveness of CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) for supplier quality issues.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely closure of outstanding CAPA actions and prevent recurrence of quality issues.
• Work closely with the PD and RD teams to establish process parameters, specifications, and acceptance criteria to ensure supplier processes are capable of meeting product and process requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on supplier development initiatives to promote the implementation of industry best practices and quality standards.
• Train suppliers on company systems, quality requirements, standards, and procedures, and monitor supplier compliance and non-conformance activities.
• Lead the supplier approval process by evaluating potential suppliers manufacturing capabilities, quality systems, processes, and overall readiness.
• Support and oversee the launch of new products, including activities such as Control Plan development, First Article/First Inspection, process validation, and production readiness.
• Maintain and manage supplier non-conformance and CAPA tracking logs to monitor corrective actions and ensure timely completion of improvement commitments.
• Maintain supplier claim tracking reports and follow up on supplier compensation and recovery actions related to quality issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing quality, supplier quality, supplier development, or a related role; experience in the automotive or mobility industry is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools, including FMEA, SPC, CAPA, PDCA, 8D, 7 QC Tools, TQM, Kaizen, and related quality practices.
• Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication, leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and supplier management skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
