Responsibilities

• Design architectural solutions and integration architectures for Viettel's core network to enable the deployment of network and customer protection solutions tailored to specific needs (e.g., for Viettel itself, its international markets, government clients, etc.).
• Research and stay updated on new core network technologies and architectures to adapt to evolving telecommunications networks; propose and design architectural adjustments aligned with core network upgrades.
• Provide design consultancy for product ecosystems deployed on core network infrastructure (e.g., solutions leveraging Telco capabilities to protect mass-market customers); serve as a subject matter expert on network architecture to advise on the design and implementation of solutions within the telecommunications network.
• Attack and defense: Research risks to telecommunications infrastructure and potential attack vectors; develop demonstration scenarios to replicate threats and build effective defense solutions; issue guidelines and recommendations to help domestic and international Telcos remediate vulnerabilities and develop appropriate telecommunications security solutions.
• Lead and mentor junior staff on core network technologies; establish and manage laboratories to support research and development activities.
• Provide telecommunications security solution consultancy with a strong customer-centric focus.
  
  

Qualifications

• Deep and broad expertise in core network domains: 4G, 5G Core (SA/NSA), and 6G. Must understand interdependencies across network domains or systems (e.g., Core, RAN, IMS, Roaming/Interconnect, Policy/Charging, Security, LI) within the scope of assigned products/specializations. Capable of assessing how changes in routing, peering, realms, APN/DNN, QoS, tunneling, SIP routing, or the placement of firewalls/probes/LI systems impact specific business functions, systems, and scopes, as well as identifying associated technical risks.
• Skills and experience in solution design and architectural design for integrating products with Telco networks.
• Customer-facing skills: Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into solutions; proficiency in customer consulting.
• Critical thinking and strategic direction for telecommunications architecture/protocols: Capable of evaluating, critically analyzing, and guiding architectural and protocol decisions for complex telecommunications challenges at the system or product level. Able to identify design gaps, architectural blind spots, integration risks, and security/operational risks, while proposing appropriate technical principles. Capable of standardizing knowledge, establishing design principles, and mentoring teams on topics such as roaming/interconnect security, Diameter/SS7/GTP/SIP security, multi-domain LI, Core/RAN/IMS integration, and 4G/5G architectures.
• Leading major incident resolution and standardizing fault analysis methodologies: Leading the analysis of critical incidents, hard-to-reproduce errors, or issues involving multiple teams, vendors, and customers. Capable of establishing end-to-end tracing methodologies and standards for logs, traces, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Guiding core module architecture and test environment standards: Providing direction on the design and implementation of telecommunications core modules at the product or team level.
