Solution Architect Data Platform (Snowflake) (1 Year Contract)

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to lead the architecture and technical design of a modern, enterprise-scale data platform built on Snowflake and Azure.

In this role, you will be responsible for defining the end-to-end data platform architecture, ensuring it is scalable, secure, well-governed, and capable of supporting analytics, application integration, and AI use cases.

You will work closely with data engineers, infrastructure and security teams, and business stakeholders to establish architecture standards, guide technical implementation, and ensure the platform meets enterprise security and operational requirements.

Data Platform Architecture & Design

• Lead the end-to-end architecture and technical design of a Snowflake-based data platform across Development, UAT, and Production environments.
• Design scalable data ingestion, transformation, storage, modelling, and consumption architectures.
• Establish architectural standards and design patterns for Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum data layers.
• Define data integration and serving patterns to support analytics, business intelligence, application integration, and AI use cases.

Security, Governance & Compliance

• Design and implement data security and governance frameworks, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Single Sign-On (SSO), SCIM, data classification, masking, and auditing.
• Define secure network connectivity and access controls using Azure private networking, PrivateLink, and network policies.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to support security accreditation, compliance, and environment readiness.
• Ensure architecture decisions align with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory requirements.

Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Provide architectural oversight for CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, deployment controls, monitoring, disaster recovery, and operational readiness.
• Review technical designs and guide data engineering teams on implementation approaches, architectural decisions, and technical trade-offs.
• Identify architectural risks, performance bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve platform scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Develop architecture documentation, technical standards, design decisions, and implementation roadmaps.
• Facilitate technical discussions, stakeholder alignment, and knowledge transfer to internal and client technical teams.

• At least 10 years of experience in solution architecture, cloud architecture, or data architecture roles.
• Strong hands-on experience architecting and implementing enterprise data platforms using Snowflake.
• Solid understanding of data warehouse and lakehouse architectures, data modelling, and medallion architecture.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly Entra ID, private networking, and cloud storage services.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise data security and governance, including RBAC, data masking, classification, auditing, and access controls.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines and implementing DevSecOps practices for cloud-based data platforms.
• Proven ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable architecture solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage technical teams, security stakeholders, and business users.

• Snowflake certifications, particularly SnowPro Advanced: Architect.
• Experience delivering data platforms in public-sector, regulated, or security-sensitive environments.
• Experience with Power BI, Snowpark, Streamlit, Cortex AI, or Snowflake secure data sharing.
• Experience supporting enterprise security accreditation and compliance processes.
