Senior Quality Automation Engineer

JOB PURPOSE

Designs the test strategy and develops automated testing (UI, API and regression) integrated into the CI/CD pipeline for Enterprise POS (EPOS) – a SaaS product for pharmacies, clinics and retail – in order to shorten release cycles while assuring product reliability and quality.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. TEST STRATEGY AND TESTING FLOW

• Design the test strategy and testing flow across the EPOS SDLC, for approval by the line manager, to align test scope, levels and criteria for every release.
• Apply test design techniques (equivalence partitioning, boundary values, decision tables, state transition) and risk-based testing to optimize coverage of sales, inventory and payment flows.

2. WEB AND MOBILE UI AUTOMATION

• Design and develop the web and mobile UI automation framework to keep scripts reusable, maintainable and stable.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites for critical business flows to detect defects early before release.

3. API AND REGRESSION AUTOMATION

• Develop API automation and tiered regression suites (smoke, sanity, full regression) to quickly confirm quality after every code change.

4. CI/CD INTEGRATION AND QUALITY GATES

• Integrate automated suites into the CI/CD pipeline (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or Jenkins) as quality gates to block non-compliant builds from deployment.
• Recommend quality gate thresholds and release go/no-go based on test results to support the line manager's release decision.

5. QUALITY METRICS AND REPORTING

• Track and analyze quality metrics – automation coverage, defect leakage and test stability (flaky rate) – to surface quality risk trends.
• Report test results regularly and propose improvement actions to inform product team decisions.

6. AUTOMATION ADOPTION AND AI-ASSISTED TESTING

• Demo automation flows and coach Testers and Software Engineers to raise automation adoption across the EPOS project.
• Design methods to test AI-assisted development output and propose AI tools for test case generation, test data and script maintenance to assure quality under the AI-first delivery model.

7. OTHER DUTIES

• Perform other duties assigned by the line manager, within professional scope, to support overall EPOS operations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
• Minimum 4 years in QA/QE, including at least 2 years in test automation. Domain experience in POS, e-commerce or retail is a plus.
• Test design: solid grasp of testing flows, test design techniques and defect lifecycle; independently designs test suites for complex flows.
• Browser automation: proficient in Playwright, Selenium or Cypress
• Mobile automation: proficient in Appium or similar
• Test programming: writes and demos end-to-end automation in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python or Java
• CI/CD: integrates tests into GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or Jenkins
