Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Merchandising Manager to lead the end-to-end commercial and operational lifecycle for our global apparel lines. Reporting to the Merchandising Director, this role is accountable for product development, margin optimization, vendor strategy, and seamless order execution from concept to delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in apparel fabrics, wash/finishing techniques, and garment construction, alongside proven leadership in managing cross-border supply chains.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Product Development & Costing Strategy

  • Oversee seasonal apparel product development from early concept through pre-production handover, ensuring strict alignment with buyer specifications and brand aesthetics.
  • Review tech packs, fabric selections, trim details, and construction methods to guide vendors and mitigate potential manufacturing risks early in the process.
  • Manage sample cycles to ensure high-quality execution meeting technical and aesthetic standards.
  • Lead end-to-end cost engineering—analyzing fabric yield, washing/finishing costs, trim fees, and CM to maximize gross margins.

B. Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Optimization

  • Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships across fabric mills, laundries, trim suppliers, and garment manufacturing facilities.
  • Assess vendor capability, production capacity, ESG compliance, and delivery performance to continuously optimize the sourcing matrix.
  • Drive speed-to-market initiatives while maintaining cost competitiveness and flexible supply chain solutions.

C. Order Execution & Operational Excellence

  • Drive order confirmation, PO management, and Time & Action , schedules to guarantee 100% on-time shipment.
  • Partner with Technical, QA/QC, and Production teams to troubleshoot fabric defects, construction issues, or chemical compliance variations.
  • Conduct risk assessments for complex finishes, specialized treatments, and high-embellishment garment categories.
  • Ensure timely approvals for lab dips, fabrics, washes, and trims across all active orders.

D. Financial Performance & Sustainability

  • Lead commercial negotiations to achieve targeted margin KPIs and drive overall business growth.
  • Proactively identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across raw materials, manufacturing processes, and logistics.
  • Enforce strict compliance with global environmental guidelines and support sustainable garment manufacturing goals.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
  • Experience: 10+ years of total Merchandising/Sourcing/Costing experience in the garment/apparel sourcing industry

Leadership & Soft Skills:

  • Professional fluency in English for daily communication with global brand partners and regional suppliers.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and vendor-partnering skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to manage, motivate, and guide cross-functional merchandising teams under peak seasonal pressures.
