Job Description
Purpose:
To lead market intelligence initiatives, consumer research, and strategic marketing programs that drive Vietnam business growth and product innovation. This position acts as a strategic partner to Sales and R&D, translating complex market dynamics,consumer behaviors and sensory data into high-impact commercial opportunities,
actionable flavor/ product concepts, and strategic client solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Marketing:
- Drive Strategic Initiatives: Lead and execute proactive commercial workshops, innovation days, and strategic flavor projects in close collaboration with Sales, R&D, and regional counterparts.
- Market & Trend Leadership: Conduct high-level strategic analyses using market intelligence platforms (Mintel, Euromonitor etc) to identify emerging macro-trends, white spaces, and consumer flavor preferences. Translate data into actionable market strategies and commercial flavor/ concepts proposals
- Concept Storytelling & Client Engagement: Develop high-impact marketing materials and presentations (Microsoft PowerPoint/Canva etc) by using storytelling to convey flavor concepts; and travel with sales for presentations as request.
- Product Knowledge Management: Manage the strategic entry of new product launches into internal databases and co-lead comprehensive tasting and evaluation sessions for competitive bench markings and client prototypes.
CSI (Consumer Sensory Insights):
- End-to-End Research Ownership: Design, manage, and execute local quantitative and qualitative consumer and sensory research studies for Vietnam (e.g., concept-product tests, usage & attitudes, sensory mapping, consumer language probing) to guide strategic flavor development.
- Strategic Collaboration: Assist and support CIMR Asia Leader on regional led strategic projects and Vietnam CSI Manager on local strategic research and setting direction for actionable learning plans for Vietnam.
- Insight Activation: Interpret consumer data, synthesize findings into strategic recommendations, and present actionable insights to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Vendor & Agency Management: Own relationships with external market research agencies, ensuring research methodologies, deliverables, and budgets align with business objectives.
- Methodological Excellence: Introduce and implement advanced sensory/consumer research tools and global best practice guidelines to elevate local research capabilities.
Others:
- Identify and report issues in a timely manner with proactive recommendations for resolution
- Prepare and submit weekly or monthly updates to supervisors on project progress and assigned responsibilities
- Perform any other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time
- Implement and conform with all established quality, safety and environmental management system requirements
- Support and comply with the implemented quality, safety and environmental management system
- Comply with all applicable company procedures, policies and legal requirements
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Consumer Research, Food Science, Sensory Science, or a related field. Exposure to international education, exchange programms, or cross-cultural environments will be an added advantage
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Exceptional capability to connect disparate data points (sensory, market, consumer) into cohesive strategic narratives
- Advanced Research Capability: Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end research methodology design (Qual/Quant) and statistical analytical software (e.g., SPSS, XLSTAT, or similar). Experience in product testing is a plus.
- Communication & Stakeholder Influence: Fluent in English and Vietnamese with superior presentation skills. Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and client decision-makers.
- Project & Time Management: Strong organizational leadership with a proven track record of handling multiple complex, cross-functional projects simultaneously.
- Autonomy & Proactivity: High degree of self-initiative, capable of steering projects with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4–5 years of progressive experience in market research, consumer insights, or strategic marketing, ideally within the Flavor, Food Ingredients, B2B Food, or FMCG industries.
Working time: Monday to Friday
Work Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (On-site)
