As AGEST Vietnam continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Legal & Compliance Specialist / Legal Counsel to provide legal advice and compliance support across the Company. The role will work closely with management and internal departments, with a primary focus on Personal Data Protection, Labor & Employment Law, Tax, and Corporate Legal & Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and practical guidance to management and internal departments on Personal Data Protection, Labor & Employment Law, Tax, and general corporate legal matters.
• Take a leading role in advising and implementing the Company's Personal Data Protection & Privacy compliance framework.
• Monitor and interpret changes in Vietnamese laws and regulations and assess their impact on the Company.
• Advise HR and management on employment-related matters, including employment contracts, labor regulations, employee relations, disciplinary procedures, and termination.
• Provide legal advice and compliance support on tax-related matters, particularly those affecting employees and business operations.
• Review, draft, and provide legal comments on contracts, agreements, internal policies, procedures, and other legal documents.
• Identify legal and compliance risks and recommend practical solutions to mitigate such risks.
• Develop, review, and update internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Support the Company in handling legal issues, disputes, regulatory matters, and communications with relevant authorities when required.
• Work closely with HR, Finance, IT, Security, Sales, and other departments to ensure legal and compliance requirements are properly implemented.
• Conduct legal research and provide timely updates on relevant regulatory changes.
• Support management in establishing and maintaining a strong legal and compliance culture across the Company.
• Safeguard the confidentiality and security of Company information and personal data in accordance with Company policies, applicable laws, and statutory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law or a related legal field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in legal, compliance, or in-house legal roles.
• Strong practical knowledge and experience in Personal Data Protection / Data Privacy is highly preferred.
• Good knowledge of Vietnamese Labor & Employment Law and Tax regulations.
• Experience in corporate legal matters, contract review, legal risk assessment, and compliance is a strong plus.
• Experience working in an in-house legal/compliance environment is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to independently research legal issues, identify risks, and provide practical and business-oriented legal advice.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with management and cross-functional teams.
• Good to Fluent English, especially in legal documents, contracts, policies, and professional communication.
• Lawyer practicing certificate is not required.
