Senior Java Software Engineer

What You'll Do

As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and delivering scalable backend solutions that power mission-critical applications. Working closely with cross-functional and international teams, you'll contribute to technical decisions while driving engineering excellence throughout the software development lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Java (11+) and Spring Boot, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Build and evolve RESTful APIs and microservices that support distributed, cloud-native applications.
• Design and implement event-driven architectures using technologies such as Apache Kafka, ensuring efficient, asynchronous communication across services.
• Develop robust backend solutions by applying modern software design principles, architectural patterns, and best engineering practices.
• Optimize application performance through effective data management using PostgreSQL and caching strategies with Redis.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to support containerized deployments using Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern cloud-native infrastructure.
• Produce clean, well-structured, and thoroughly tested code through unit testing, integration testing, peer code reviews, and continuous refactoring.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term, sustainable solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews, and Agile ceremonies while contributing ideas that improve system quality and engineering standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative engineering culture through knowledge sharing and technical guidance.

Who We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development using Java.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 11+ and Spring Boot in building enterprise-grade applications.
• Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and scalable distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, backend design patterns, and modern engineering principles.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven application development.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, along with experience implementing caching solutions using Redis.
• Practical experience working with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software development methodologies.
• A strong commitment to code quality through automated testing, code reviews, debugging, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Advanced English communication skills, with the confidence to participate in technical discussions and collaborate with international stakeholders on a daily basis.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kotlin.
• Familiarity with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ or similar message brokers.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience building and deploying applications in cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
• Knowledge of Server-Sent Events (SSE) for real-time communication.
• Experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles in enterprise applications.
• Exposure to designing and implementing Event-Driven Architecture in large-scale systems.
