Senior Fullstack Software Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build and operate secure, scalable and maintainable digital applications. The role covers the complete software lifecycle and technology stack, from user interfaces and backend services to APIs, data stores, integrations and production support. You will work with product, design, engineering, quality, cybersecurity and platform teams to turn business needs into reliable software products.

Responsibilities

Full Stack Application Development

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and continuously improve responsive web applications and backend services.

• Build intuitive and accessible user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks and reusable components.

• Develop secure and scalable APIs, business services and integrations with internal and external systems.

• Design and work with relational and non-relational databases, data models, schemas and efficient queries.

• Apply sound software engineering principles, including object-oriented design, design patterns, modular architecture and clean coding practices.

Quality, Security and Operations

• Implement authentication, authorisation, input validation, audit logging, error handling and secure coding controls.

• Create and maintain automated unit, integration, API and user-interface tests.

• Contribute to build, release and deployment automation through CI/CD pipelines and container-based environments.

• Use monitoring, logging and observability tools to diagnose production issues and improve reliability, scalability and performance.

• Participate in incident resolution, root-cause analysis and the implementation of sustainable corrective actions.

Technical Leadership and Collaboration

• Work with Product Owners and Business Analysts to refine requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, cybersecurity, data, architecture and UX teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

• Lead or contribute to technical design reviews, code reviews and engineering decisions.

• Prepare and maintain architecture notes, interface specifications, design documents, runbooks and other technical documentation.

• Mentor engineers, share reusable practices and help improve team engineering standards.

Requirements

Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience designing, building and operating production software applications.

• Demonstrated experience delivering across both frontend and backend components of web applications.

• Experience working in Agile, Scrum or hybrid software delivery teams.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and at least one modern frontend framework such as React, Angular or Vue.

• Strong backend development experience with Java, C#, Node.js, Python or an equivalent technology.

• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating systems using API or messaging technologies.

• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, software design patterns and application architecture.

• Experience with SQL and database schema design; familiarity with NoSQL, caching or search technologies is an advantage.

• Hands-on experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, monitoring, logging and production debugging.

• Working knowledge of application security, identity and access control, data protection and secure software development practices.

• Experience developing and operating applications on public cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.

• Experience with microservices, Kubernetes, event-driven architecture, message brokers, caching or asynchronous processing.

• Experience with API management, service discovery, configuration management, feature flags or platform-level capabilities.

• Familiarity with responsive design, accessibility, performance optimisation and data visualisation.

• Experience integrating enterprise systems, third-party services, analytics platforms or AI-enabled capabilities.

• Relevant cloud, Agile, security or software engineering certifications.
