JTL Shop 6.0 is a new, cloud-native multi-shop SaaS platform: headless, API-first, built on Microsoft Azure, and closely integrated with the JTL ERP Cloud as the leading cloud ERP system. The goal is a scalable, economically operable platform that lets growth-oriented merchants run multiple shops, brands, and markets from a single backend. To build this platform – from architecture through MVP launch – we are assembling a new, interdisciplinary project team.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you define the frontend architecture of the new, headless JTL Shop 6.0 and build a scalable, reusable component system for a multi-shop frontend. You ensure the storefront's performance, SEO, and accessibility, and integrate the frontend closely with the backend APIs.

This role is part of the interdisciplinary JTL Shop 6.0 project team (Tech Lead, Product Owner/Project Manager, UI/UX, Frontend, Backend, DevOps, QA) and works in short, agile cycles with clear definition-of-done and review processes.

YOUR EXCITING TASKS

• Define the frontend architecture of the new, headless JTL Shop 6.0, including rendering strategy (SSR/ISR) and routing
• Build scalable component systems and a reusable UI architecture for a multi-shop/multi-tenant frontend
• Ensure the storefront's performance (Core Web Vitals), SEO, and accessibility
• Integrate the frontend closely with the backend APIs and data flows from the JTL ERP Cloud and other platform services
• Conduct code reviews and define binding standards for frontend development across the team
• Work closely with UI/UX design to implement design systems cleanly
  
  

YOUR PROFILE AND YOUR PERSONALITY

• Several years of experience (typically 5+ years) as a frontend developer, including proven experience in a senior role
• Strong knowledge of Next.js (SSR, ISR, routing, middleware) and React (advanced patterns, hooks, state management)
• Experience in SEO optimization (metadata, structured data) and performance optimization (Core Web Vitals)
• Experience building component libraries or design systems for scalable frontends
• Confident handling of REST APIs and modern data-fetching strategies, e.g. caching, ISR, streaming
• Understanding of headless/PWA architectures in an e-commerce context
• Personal competencies
• High quality standards for code, performance, and user experience
• Independent, structured way of working
• Enjoys technical discussion and constructive feedback within the team
• Motivated to help shape a frontend from scratch rather than maintain an existing one
  

Nice To Have

• Experience with multi-shop/multi-tenant frontends (theming, internationalization, locale/currency handling)
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG)
• Experience working closely with UI/UX teams, e.g. via Figma handoff
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) in daily work
