ABOUT THE ROLE:
Responsible for Fabric Development, production and quality management for Kontoor Brand Inc with Mills in Vietnam and close by region. need to possess deep knowledge of fabric production, wash techniques, sustainability, and market trends to deliver high quality products.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage new Mill on boarding process , Source and evaluate the new mills in the region from quality and costing perspective.
- Work closely with Hongkong fabric team and US design team for fabric development, follow up the resources and ensure approvals of samples are obtained on time
- Coordinate with Mill R&D team for fabric development critical issues such as critical shade/ texture/Handle matching specially for sub developments, re-engineering for critical failing parameters and cost effectiveness perspective.
- Risk assessment and identify High risk articles categorize based on set checklist/criteria's with necessary call out and action plans.
- Get quotation / cutting / hanger for all approved items and updated fabric status chart in daily
- Monitor development and bulk fabric testing status to ensure quality standard in being fulfilled. Deal with mills in case of any failure in testing and make necessary alert to souring team.
- Ensure fabrics are covered and production is scheduled as planned, and reserve the mill production capacity if need
- Prepare reports for review on development status, testing status, production status, etc.
- Work closely with manager in costing, price negotiation and price comparison of different sources options.
- Need work close with planning team to place pre-book fabric order for early delivery or longer lead-time fabric to mill
- Co-ordinate with QC on quality related matters to ensure quality meets specifications.
- Investigate and resolve the fabric quality issue between mills and vendors when needed. Identify root cause and follow up the corrective action plan.
- Ensure bulk on time delivery from fabric vendors & manage the smooth execution of bulk.
- Manage and co-ordinate the report in the region that related to on time performance, quality and sustainable report.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
- Experience as fabric merchandiser or senior merchandiser in textile industry
- Fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Fluent in spoken mandarin is preferred
- Strong Communication Skills.
- Strong Fabric knowledge.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Degree Held: Degree holder in BA, Textile Engineering or Textile & Fashion
Subject Expert In: Textile Technology / Textile Chemistry /Strong Negotiation Skill.
