Senior Design Manager

Archetype is looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager – Real Estate to lead architectural design delivery for major developments in Vietnam.

This senior role requires strong design leadership, experience working with leading Vietnamese developers, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams throughout the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the architectural design team, including resource planning, project allocation, performance management, mentoring and team development.
• Oversee design delivery from concept through detailed design, permitting and construction stages.
• Ensure high-quality design outcomes in line with client expectations, project requirements and Archetype standards.
• Coordinate closely with MEP, C&S, cost management and other specialist consultants to ensure fully integrated design solutions.
• Manage project schedules, design milestones, deliverables and team resources across multiple projects.
• Lead design coordination meetings and resolve technical, design and interface issues.
• Manage client and developer relationships, including design changes, variations, scope clarification and expectations.
• Review design documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, compliance and constructability.
• Ensure designs comply with Vietnamese regulations, codes and permitting requirements.
• Support business development activities by providing input on design approach, resources, man-hours and project schedules.

• Degree in Architecture or a relevant design discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a design management or team leadership role.
• Proven experience leading an architectural design team.
• Strong track record delivering large-scale real estate projects such as residential, mixed-use, hospitality, commercial or high-rise developments.
• Proven experience working with leading real estate developers in Vietnam on large-scale and complex developments.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination experience with MEP, C&S and specialist consultants.
• Good knowledge of Vietnamese building regulations, codes, authority submissions and permitting processes.
• Strong client management, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and good working knowledge of Revit, BIM coordination platforms and Microsoft Office.
• Experience working in an international consultancy or managing multicultural project teams will be an advantage.
