Senior Database Administrator

Job Description

• Monitor database performance, identify and resolve issues proactively;
• Plan and execute backup/restore procedures, ensuring RTO/RPO targets are met;
• Optimize queries, indexes, pagination, filtering, sorting, connection pooling, and execution plans to improve system performance;
• Design and implement HA/DR solutions: Always On, Replication, Clustering on AWS Cloud;
• Enforce database governance, security policies, manage user access and audit logs;
• Ensure secure handling of PII and sensitive financial data across environments ;
• Collaborate with backend/data teams on API, schema design, transaction design, query design/optimization, and API access patterns;
• Coordinate with Data Engineering team on schema changes, data freshness, and extraction strategy;
• Support integration between operational databases and data platform, reporting systems, DWH/lakehouse, CDC, ETL/ELT, and reconciliation processes.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field;
• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator;
• Proficient in advanced SQL: query tuning, stored procedures, functions, triggers;
• Hands-on experience with at least 2 RDBMS: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL;
• Strong knowledge of HA/DR: Always On AG, RAC, Replication, Failover Clustering;
• Familiarity with Cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP) is a plus;
• Understanding of database security, encryption, and TDE;
• Certifications preferred: MCSE, OCP, AWS Database Specialty, DP-300.
