As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Supervisor to strengthen our Finance & Accounting team and take ownership of accounting operations, statutory compliance, financial reporting, internal controls and continuous improvement.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Finance Head, this is a hands-on role for an experienced accounting professional who can work independently, take ownership of accounting matters and ensure that financial records, tax filings and statutory reporting are accurate, timely and compliant with Vietnamese regulations.

Beyond core accounting responsibilities, the successful candidate will have opportunities to work closely with the Country Manager on selected operational initiatives, using financial and accounting insights to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, strengthen processes and support better business decisions.

This role therefore provides exposure beyond traditional accounting, while remaining primarily responsible for the accounting and finance responsibilities assigned by the Finance Head.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Month-End Closing

• Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial activities.
• Lead and coordinate the monthly closing process.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, fixed assets and other balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for revenue, expenses, inventory, COGS and other business transactions.
• Maintain complete and properly supported accounting records.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and management information for review by the Finance Head.

Tax & Statutory Compliance

• Prepare and coordinate monthly/quarterly tax declarations, including VAT, PIT, CIT, FCT and other applicable taxes.
• Ensure compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and applicable tax regulations.
• Monitor changes in accounting and tax regulations and highlight relevant implications to the Finance Head.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and support tax inspections or queries from tax authorities.
• Ensure statutory reports and filings are completed accurately and on time.

Financial Reporting & Audit

• Support the preparation of annual statutory financial statements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide requested schedules and supporting documentation.
• Assist with audit queries and ensure timely resolution of accounting matters.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails for financial transactions.
• Provide reliable financial information to support management decision-making.

Internal Controls, Governance & Process Improvement

• Support the Finance Head in maintaining and strengthening effective internal controls, accounting policies and procedures.
• Work closely with the external/internal audit team and Group Internal Audit team on audit activities, reviews and follow-up actions.
• Coordinate supporting documents, schedules and explanations required for internal and group audit reviews.
• Follow up on audit findings and support implementation of agreed corrective and preventive actions.
• Identify control gaps, process inefficiencies and potential financial or operational risks, and recommend practical improvements.
• Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures for finance and accounting activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reduce manual work and strengthen process efficiency.
• Support process automation and digitalization initiatives.
• Assist with the implementation and enhancement of accounting and ERP systems.
• Ensure appropriate documentation, approval and control processes are followed.

Business & Operational Support

• Work closely with the Finance Head and other functional teams on accounting and financial matters.
• Collaborate with the Country Manager on selected operational initiatives where financial analysis and accounting insights can improve business efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency, processes, controls and resource utilization.
• Support the Finance Head in evaluating the financial impact of operational and commercial initiatives.
• Work with Sales, Supply Chain, Commercial, HR and other departments to resolve financial and accounting matters.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis activities led by the Finance Head.

Software & Systems Skills

• Strong hands-on knowledge of accounting and ERP systems.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and MISA – AMIS is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with the AMIS ecosystem and related operational applications, including process management, digital back-office and business workflow applications, is an advantage.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to work with financial data, reconciliations and reporting.
• Experience with ERP implementation, system migration, process automation or digital finance transformation is an advantage.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a Senior Accountant or Accounting Supervisor position.
• Strong practical knowledge of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and Vietnamese tax regulations.
• Good practical experience with VAT, CIT, PIT and FCT.
• Experience with monthly closing and preparation of financial reports.
• Experience working with external auditors and tax authorities.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, COGS, revenue and distribution-related accounting.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, FMCG, trading or distribution is an advantage.
• Good understanding of internal controls, audit processes and accounting procedures.
• Vietnamese Chief Accountant Certificate is required.
• CPA Vietnam, ACCA or other relevant professional accounting qualification is an added advantage.
• Good command of English and Vietnamese, both written and spoken.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity, accountability and ownership.
• Proactive and practical approach, with the ability to work in a fast-growing business environment.
