Job Description
Purpose of the Role
Sky Preschool is looking for a dynamic, people-first School Manager to lead the day-to-day operations, growth, and community life of our campus. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on connecting with people, building a strong team culture, and driving the school's growth through creative marketing, sales, and standout parent experience.
You will be the face of Sky Preschool — the first person families meet on a tour, the person parents turn to with questions, and the person your team looks to for direction and energy. You will work closely with the Principal or Senior Teacher, who leads the academic and pedagogical program, while you own sales (admissions), marketing, operations, and the overall parent and staff experience.
This role suits someone with a growth mindset — energized by the opportunity to help scale Sky beyond its first campus.
Location:Sky Preschool BSD (specific location TBC), Indonesia
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Culture
- Lead, motivate, and support the school's non-academic team day to day, creating a positive, professional, and collaborative culture.
- Act as the primary point of contact and role model for staff on-site, setting the tone for how the school operates.
- Instill and reinforce the school's culture and values within the team, ensuring they are reflected in daily behavior, communication, and service standards.
- Partner closely with the Principal — you lead operations, admissions, and community; they lead curriculum and teaching quality — so the school runs as one aligned team.
Sales, Admissions, Growth
- Own student enrollment targets and revenue growth for the campus.
- Lead school tours, admissions counseling, and enrollment conversions with warmth and persuasion — this is a genuine sales responsibility, not just an administrative one.
- Plan and run marketing events, open days, and community activities that build Sky's reputation and pipeline of prospective families.
- Bring creative, innovative ideas to how the school is promoted and positioned in a competitive, premium market.
Parent & Stakeholder Relationships
- Be the trusted go-to person for parents — building genuine relationships, not just handling logistics.
- Maintain open, proactive communication channels between school and families.
- Actively encourage and facilitate parent involvement in school life.
- Represent Sky Preschool confidently with external stakeholders, partners, and the wider community.
Operations & Program Support
- Manage the smooth day-to-day running of the school, including class organization and operational efficiency.
- Organize, coordinate, and facilitate school events and workshops.
- Support and collaborate with the Principal on teacher training and mentoring — ensuring operations enable, rather than dictate, the academic program.
- Champion the well-being, safety, and security of all children on campus.
- Drive innovation — new ideas, new programs, and initiatives that grow the Sky brand.
Childcare & Playhouse Growth
- Develop the Childcare, Playhouse and/ or other programs as strong feeders into the main school.
- Support staff to deliver an engaging experience that reflects the Sky programs and builds early relationships with prospective families.
Financial Health
- Work with your Line Manager, the General Director - Vietnam & Indonesia, to maintain the financial sustainability and premium positioning of Sky Preschool.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Business Management, Education Management, or equivalent
- Proven track record in sales & marketing, preferable in a start-up context
- Strong, confident leadership — a track record of leading and motivating a team.
- A natural connector — excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and genuine ease building relationships with parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Sales and marketing instinct — comfortable owning enrollment numbers, running tours, and closing admissions conversations.
- Innovative and creative — someone who brings fresh ideas to events, programs, and brand-building, rather than just maintaining the status quo.
- Growth mindset — excited by the opportunity to help expand Sky beyond its first campus.
- Languages: Essential - Bahasa Indonesia (Fluent), English (Advanced); Desirable - Chinese.
- Flexible, culturally sensitive, and comfortable working across diverse family backgrounds.
- Solid administrative and computer literacy skills.
- Available 40 hours/week, with flexibility for tours and events including occasional Saturdays (approx. 2 mornings/month) and evenings.
- Punctual, positive, and calm under pressure — a steady, respectful presence with children, families, and staff at all times.
- Proactive communicator — flags concerns about children's development or operational issues to the Principal/Director early, however small.
