Job Purpose Summary
We are seeking
Sales Manager, Ophthalmology based in Vietnam with an entrepreneurial spirit who excels in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment to join our team
What You Will Do- Market Development & Demand Mapping
- Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic demand mapping across Malaysia, including:
- Key hospitals (government & private)
- Eye institutes and specialty centers
- High-volume surgeons and surgical units
- Analyze procedure volumes, customer segments, and product usage patterns to identify growth opportunities
- Develop account penetration strategies based on hospital infrastructure, surgical trends, and unmet needs
- Continuously assess market potential and adjust territory priorities accordingly
- Sales & Revenue Growth
- Achieve and exceed annual sales targets for the ophthalmic surgical portfolio
- Drive revenue through effective clinical presentations, product discussions, and solution-based selling
- Convert opportunities by articulating product value, efficiency benefits, and clinical advantages
- Lead product evaluations and trials to support conversion of targeted accounts
- Develop structured territory business plans, forecasts, and growth strategies
- Distributor & Channel Management
- Manage and develop local distributors/partners to ensure strong market coverage and execution
- Guide distributors using data-driven demand insights and account prioritization
- Conduct regular business reviews, pipeline tracking, and demand planning
- Support distributors with product training, sales tools, and joint customer visits
- Ensure alignment with pricing strategy, contracts, and company policies
- Clinical & Product Engagement
- Provide in-theatre support during product evaluations and complex cases when required
- Organize workshops, product demonstrations, and surgeon training sessions
- Engage surgeons and hospital stakeholders in technical and clinical discussions that support product adoption
- Work with marketing and clinical teams to implement targeted education initiatives
- Key Account & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with key ophthalmic surgeons, KOLs, hospital administrators, and procurement teams
- Support tender processes, quotations, and negotiations
- Position the company as a long-term clinical and commercial partner
- Planning & Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM data, forecasts, and opportunity tracking
- Provide monthly sales reports, market intelligence, and competitive insights
- Participate in regional meetings, product launches, and training programs
What You Will Need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of medical device sales experience, preferably in:
- Ophthalmology
- Surgical instruments
- Operating room devices
- Demonstrated experience in market analysis, account segmentation, and opportunity mapping
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience managing distributors is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of hospital procurement and tender processes
Skills & Competencies: -
- 50 - 75% travel
- Proficient with CRM platform (Salesforce.com)
- Highly organized and has very effective time management skills.
- Highly customer focused.
- Operating room sales/medical device experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, MS Office, PowerPoint
- This role requires meeting the hospital credentialing requirements
- Strong ability to conduct structured customer need analysis and demand assessment
- Confident presenter with the ability to influence clinical and commercial stakeholders
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
- High ownership mindset with strong execution discipline
- Analytical and strategic thinker with good forecasting capability
- Strong training and communication skills
