About the role

The Sales Executive - General Trade (GT) is responsible for driving sales and expanding our distribution network for food (frozen, chilled, dry) and FMCG products across traditional trade channels in Vietnam. This role involves direct management of retail customers, small wholesalers and agents, ensuring product availability, effective merchandising and local execution of sales campaigns. The position plays a hands-on role in achieving sales targets, increasing numeric distribution and maintaining strong in-market visibility.

Reporting to the Head of Retail, the Sales Executive GT works closely with internal teams including trade marketing, logistics and customer service to coordinate stock, promotions and delivery planning. The role also includes regular market visits, competitor monitoring and customer feedback collection to support continuous commercial improvement. A high level of field engagement, self-discipline and adaptability is required, as well as the ability to build strong relationships within the GT landscape.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets on the GT channel.

Expand and maintain a network of agents, retailers and food service clients, ensuring broad distribution coverage.

Manage day-to-day sales operations, including field visits, territory coverage and customer engagement.

Implement and monitor systems and processes to support efficient distribution and scalable growth.

Collaborate with the marketing and trade marketing teams to implement promotional campaigns and local events.

Conduct regular market visits to assess store performance, ensure product visibility and identify new opportunities.

Perform competitive analysis and collect customer feedback to inform product positioning and strategic planning.

Prepare weekly and monthly reports on sales performance, forecasts and inventory needs.

Ensure strong brand visibility and availability in assigned territories through effective merchandising and retail support.

oRetailers, shop owners, wholesalers

oLocal agents and sub-distributors

oField promoters and merchandising partners

oLocal campaign partners and event organizers

Location and commitments

Permanent full-time employment contract

Role based in Ho Chi Minh City

Travel to provinces and weekend work may occasionally be necessary

Candidate Profile

Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: minimum of 3-5 years of sales in frozen foods, FMCG or the food distribution industry, especially in GT.

Strong understanding of Vietnam's GT landscape and retail dynamics.

Excellent communication, leadership and negotiation skills.

Hands-on, field-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in using sales reporting tools and CRM systems is an advantage.

Willing to travel extensively across assigned territories.
