Job Title: Regional Accounting Manager – Vietnam

Reports To: Global Finance Director

Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Scope: Group entities in Vietnam

Employment Type: Full-time

1. ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Global Finance Director, the Regional Accounting Manager – Vietnam will own the accounting and financial reporting function for the Group's entities in Vietnam.

The role is responsible for ensuring accurate accounting records, timely month-end closing, reliable financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective support to local business operations. The role will also oversee tax, audit and statutory compliance matters and work closely with the Global Finance team and other stakeholders across the Group.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, hands-on experience in a multinational or fast-moving business environment, and the ability to improve finance processes and controls. Experience in a technology, software, IT services or technology outsourcing company is preferred.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES2.1 Accounting & Financial Reporting
  • Own day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close for the Group's Vietnam entities, ensuring accurate and complete books in accordance with IFRS and Group accounting policies.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports for Vietnam entities to support Group reporting.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, receivables, payables, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, payroll and intercompany balances.
  • Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations and elimination entries where applicable.
  • Provide financial analysis on key results, variances, cash movements and other matters requiring management attention.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial information to the Global Finance team.
2.2 Tax, Compliance & Audit
  • Oversee Vietnam tax and statutory compliance requirements, working with external tax advisors where appropriate.
  • Coordinate statutory audits and ensure complete and accurate supporting documentation is available.
  • Work closely with external auditors, tax advisors and other professional service providers.
  • Ensure accounting and financial reporting practices comply with applicable Vietnamese regulations and Group policies.
  • Identify and escalate material accounting, tax or compliance issues to the Global Finance Director in a timely manner.
  • Support intercompany and transfer pricing matters, ensuring transactions are properly supported and documented.
2.3 Process, Systems & Internal Control
  • Improve month-end close, accounting procedures and reporting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy and control.
  • Establish and maintain practical accounting procedures and ensure consistent application of Group finance policies.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, approval workflows, segregation of duties and appropriate financial documentation.
  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements across the Vietnam finance function.
  • Support ERP implementation, system integrations, chart of accounts standardisation and finance process automation.
  • Drive greater efficiency through appropriate use of technology and automation in accounting processes.
2.4 Cash, Banking & Business Partnering
  • Manage payment planning and cash requirements for Vietnam entities in coordination with Group Treasury.
  • Oversee day-to-day banking administration, payment execution, bank mandates, signatories and banking-related requests.
  • Oversee payroll accounting and related finance processes.
  • Support vendor management, invoicing and commercial processes from a finance and control perspective.
  • Act as the main finance contact for local stakeholders, providing practical guidance on accounting, documentation and cost control.
  • Work closely with the Global Finance team and other Group functions on cross-border and finance-related matters.
2.5 Team Leadership
  • Lead and review the work of the local accounting team, setting priorities and ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Develop consistent accounting practices and ways of working across Vietnam entities.
  • Coach and develop team members to strengthen technical accounting and reporting capabilities.
  • Manage outsourced accounting and other finance service providers where applicable, ensuring agreed scope, timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Perform other finance and operational responsibilities assigned by the Global Finance Director.
3. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent is preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including experience in a multinational, regional or shared-services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and hands-on experience with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations and intercompany accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with Vietnamese accounting, tax and statutory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and, ideally, consolidation, intercompany reconciliation and elimination.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting processes, with a track record of process improvement.
  • Strong ERP/accounting systems experience and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience working with external auditors, tax advisors and other professional service providers.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in an international environment.
  • Fluent English, with the ability to communicate effectively with global stakeholders.
Industry Preference
  • Experience in technology, software, IT services or technology outsourcing companies is preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-growing or international technology environment is an advantage.
4. PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES
  • Big 4 or mid-tier audit background followed by relevant in-house finance experience.
  • Experience working in a multinational or cross-border Group with intercompany transactions and transfer pricing.
  • Experience managing accounting teams and/or outsourced finance providers.
  • Experience improving finance processes, implementing ERP/accounting systems or introducing finance automation.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a lean, international environment with a high level of ownership and autonomy.
