R&D Manager – Hardware Product Development (Mechanical/Mechatronics) | CT Modulex

District 3, Ho Chi Minh City | Full-time | R&D

CT Modulex is building Vietnam's first industrialized smart modular home manufacturing platform, targeting international markets including Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East. We're looking for an R&D Manager to own our product development function end-to-end — from concept to a factory-ready, commercially scalable product.

This is a founding-team-level role: you'll be shaping the R&D structure, processes, and technology roadmap from an early stage, not maintaining an existing one.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

• Define the R&D strategy, technology/product roadmap, and project portfolio aligned with business direction
• Own the product development process end-to-end: concept → detailed design → DFM/DFA → prototyping → FAT/SAT → production handover
• Lead cross-functional design reviews across Architecture, Structural/Mechanical, Mechatronics, MEP, Production, and Procurement
• Build and grow a multidisciplinary R&D team; set KPIs and reporting cadence
• Control project timelines, budgets, risk, and engineering change management
• Manage technical relationships with suppliers, universities, research institutes, and certification bodies
• Drive testing, design standardization, and handover to Production/QA-QC

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 8+ years in R&D, product development, or engineering, with 3+ years leading a team or department
• Track record of taking an integrated, multidisciplinary hardware product from concept through to production or commercialization
• Background in one of the following is strongly preferred: modular/prefab construction, structural panel systems, mechanized/automated systems, or automotive R&D and product development
• Working knowledge of BOM, DFM/DFA, configuration control, and design-to-production handover
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Structural, Electrical, or MEP Engineering
• English proficiency for technical documentation and international partner communication
• Comfortable making decisions with incomplete data in a fast-moving, early-stage environment

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Salary: VND 40,000,000 – 60,000,000 gross, or negotiable based on experience
• Full social insurance per Vietnamese labor law
• Project milestone-based bonuses
• 13th-month salary, Group-wide benefits policy (including 5 days paid Vu Lan leave), lunch/phone/travel allowances
• Direct exposure to BOD-level decision-making and international market expansion
