COMPANY OVERVIEW

Adecco's client is a company specializing in chemical additives and industrial auxiliaries, serving industries such as paints & coatings, printing inks, textiles, paper, water treatment, oil & gas, and electroplating.

Reports to: R&D Supervisor

Working Time: Mon – Sat

Working Location: Tan Duc Industrial Park, Duc Hoa Commune, Tay Ninh Province, Vietnam

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Organic Synthesis and Laboratory Operations

Perform laboratory-scale organic synthesis experiments according to approved experimental plans and procedures.
Conduct or support reactions such as catalytic hydrogenation, reduction, oxidation, cyclization, condensation, substitution, esterification, and hydrolysis.
Prepare raw materials, catalysts, reagents, solvents, and reaction equipment; verify materials and operating conditions before experiments.
Operate laboratory equipment such as glass reactors, rotary evaporators, vacuum pumps, filtration devices, drying ovens, and hydrogenation reactors.
Perform extraction, washing, filtration, centrifugation, distillation, solvent recovery, crystallization, recrystallization, and drying.
Support catalyst screening and evaluation.

2. Process Optimization and Experimental Data

Investigate the effects of temperature, pressure, reaction time, solvent, catalyst, material ratio, and pH on reaction performance.
Record experimental observations and calculate yield, conversion, purity, material consumption, and other process indicators.
Identify and report abnormal temperature, pressure, gas generation, crystallization, or product quality issues.
Maintain complete, accurate, and traceable laboratory records.
Assist in preparing experimental summaries, batch records, material balances, and technical reports.

3. Analytical Testing and Crystallization Evaluation

Prepare, identify, and submit samples and communicate testing requirements to QC/analytical teams.
Operate GC, HPLC, moisture analyzers, pH meters, and titration equipment after training.
Assist in evaluating product purity, impurities, residual solvents, moisture, and other properties.
Evaluate crystal formation, filtration performance, solvent selection, cooling conditions, and crystallization yield.
Compare analytical results across experimental batches and support investigation of abnormal results.

4. Pilot-Scale and Production Support

Support pilot-trial preparation, including raw materials, equipment checks, process parameters, and sample collection.
Support laboratory-to-pilot process transfer and document differences between laboratory and pilot conditions.
Collect pilot-trial data on reaction time, temperature, material consumption, yield, quality, and solvent recovery.
Report scale-up risks, process deviations, and equipment issues to the R&D Supervisor.

5. Laboratory Safety and Housekeeping

Follow safety requirements for flammable solvents, corrosive/toxic chemicals, pressurized gases, hydrogenation, and hazardous waste.
Check equipment condition, ventilation, cooling, pressure control, and emergency measures before higher-risk experiments.
Properly label and store chemicals, samples, and waste; maintain a clean and organized laboratory.
Immediately stop experiments and notify the supervisor in case of abnormal temperature, pressure, leakage, or other unsafe conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or above in Organic Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or a related discipline.
One to three years of relevant experience in organic synthesis, fine chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates, process development, or laboratory work.
Practical organic synthesis experience is required; hydrogenation, catalysis, cyclization, reduction, oxidation, or crystallization experience is preferred.
Familiar with extraction, distillation, filtration, drying, and crystallization operations.
Able to use or learn GC and HPLC; experience with impurity analysis or crystallization assessment is preferred.
Able to maintain accurate records and use office software to organize experimental data.
Strong safety awareness, execution capability, attention to detail, and willingness to cooperate with production and QC teams.
Ability to read basic English technical documents is preferred; communication skills relevant to the Vietnam operation are an advantage.
