Job Description

A test suite only protects a release if its checks cover the product surfaces people actually use—and run before a critical failure ships. This role brings API, web, and iOS/Android automation into one release-focused QA scope for a healthcare technology team.

Quick facts

  • Company: A healthcare technology team supported by a Vietnam engineering group
  • Role: QA Automation Engineer (API, Web & Mobile)
  • Reports to: Project Lead
  • Location: Vietnam
  • Type: Full-time
  • Salary: Attractive salary; gross compensation is negotiable
  • Schedule: three hours of US-team overlap, currently 7:00–10:00 AM through March 2027, then 6:00–9:00 AM, followed by the remainder of an eight-hour workday

1. About the role

Own hands-on automated testing across APIs, web end-to-end flows, and mobile UI on iOS and Android. Your tests will run in the build pipeline so critical failures are caught before release, supported by realistic healthcare/device test data, accessibility checks, and clear quality records.

2. What you'll own

  • API, web and mobile automation: Build and maintain automated API tests, web end-to-end suites, and mobile UI checks for iOS and Android.
  • Release confidence: Run tests in the build pipeline and ensure a failing critical test blocks a release from shipping.
  • Representative test data: Create safe test data for scenarios such as simulated patients, device readings, and lab results.
  • Accessible experiences: Test accessibility with older users in mind and report barriers that affect usability.
  • Quality documentation: Write clear test plans and bug reports, and maintain release records that make outcomes understandable to the team.

3. What we're looking for

Must-have

  • 4–7 years of QA experience, including 3+ years writing automated tests in code.
  • Practical experience with at least two of these tool families: Playwright or Cypress; Appium or Detox; Postman or REST Assured.
  • Experience running automated tests in CI/CD, using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
  • English at B2 spoken and C1 written level; written reporting is used with US-based engineers and auditors.
  • Availability for the required US-team overlap schedule and a full-time role in Vietnam. The opening does not accept foreign applicants.

Nice-to-have

  • Testing in an audit or quality-process environment such as ISO 13485, IEC 62304, SOC 2, or HIPAA.
  • Testing AI features, including evaluating chatbot responses.

4. Real conditions and schedule

The role is full-time in Vietnam. The daily three-hour overlap with the US team is mandatory: 7:00–10:00 AM through March 2027, then 6:00–9:00 AM, followed by the rest of an eight-hour workday. Office attendance or remote/hybrid arrangements are not specified here. Interview stages include three rounds and assignments, depending on the interview.

5. Why this move

For a QA engineer whose current work is concentrated in one layer, this scope may offer a practical way to demonstrate broader ownership across APIs, browser journeys, and mobile interfaces—while keeping the work hands-on. The fit depends on being comfortable with the early US overlap and writing detailed English reports.

6. Why Work here

  • Attractive salary; gross compensation is negotiable.
  • 13th-month salary.
  • Additional health insurance.
  • Free lunch, plus coffee, snacks, and fruit at work.
  • Performance bonus.
  • 15 days of annual leave.
  • Bonuses for Lunar New Year, weddings, holidays, and birthdays.
  • Professional courses for personal development.
  • Annual health check.
  • Team-building activities, a company trip, and football activities.
  • The testing scope spans API, web, and mobile, which can suit engineers who want evidence of quality across more than one product surface.
  • Test data for patients, device readings, and lab results connects quality work to realistic healthcare technology scenarios.

7. About the company

Our client works in wearable medical technology, supporting health-tech and medical-device companies with engineering across hardware, firmware, software, and regulatory submission. Its integrated approach brings these disciplines under an ISO 13485 quality-management system. The company reports 15 years in MedTech, more than 100 delivered projects, and an FDA 510(k) track record.

For this opening, the job supports a dedicated Vietnam engineering team serving a US healthcare technology business. That company-level medtech context is relevant to the product scenarios, while the specific team assignment and day-to-day setup belong to this role.
