Production Integration & Technical Delivery Expert

POSITION SUMMARY

The jobholder is responsible for representing GSM production, operational and technical interests throughout the planning, design, construction and commissioning of entertainment venues and theatre infrastructure.

Acting as the GSM senior production representative, the position ensures that theatre facilities, Theatre Systems Equipment's (TSE) and show infrastructure support the creative vision, operational requirements and long-term performance objectives of each production.

The role provides strategic oversight and technical review across the project lifecycle while working closely with internal departments, external producers, designers and consultants. It does not assume responsibility for engineering design, procurement, construction management or project delivery, which remain under the responsibility of the Design Management Department (DMD) and Project Management Unit (PMU)

The position requires extensive experience in live entertainment production, theatre systems, venue development and multidisciplinary project coordination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Production Planning & Technical Strategy

• Support the CEO & Executive Producer in developing production strategies for new entertainment venues and attraction projects.
• Define production, operational and technical requirements for new theatres and entertainment facilities.
• Translate creative objectives into functional production and operational requirements.
• Identify operational constraints, technical opportunities and long-term venue requirements during early project planning.
• Advise Executive Management on production feasibility, venue functionality and operational readiness.

2. Show Producer Technical Integration

Act as the primary technical production interface between external show producers and GSM throughout the planning, design and delivery of entertainment venues, ensuring that the creative vision and production requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions and successfully implemented.

The scope includes:

• Work closely with external show producers to understand their artistic vision, technical requirements and operational expectations.
• Translate creative and production requirements into clear technical and functional requirements for DMD during the theatre and Theatre Systems Equipment (TSE) design process.
• Ensure that production-specific requirements are fully considered and incorporated into theatre systems, venue infrastructure and base building designs.
• Facilitate technical coordination between show producers, DMD, PMU, consultants and specialist suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor the implementation of agreed production requirements during engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning to ensure they remain aligned with the approved production intent.
• Identify technical gaps, interface conflicts or design changes that could affect the creative vision, operational functionality or production quality, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Support show producers during design reviews, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning and operational readiness activities.
• Verify, from a production perspective, that the completed venue and theatre systems are capable of supporting the intended production safely, efficiently and in accordance with the approved creative and operational objectives.

3. Theatre Design Review

• Review concept, schematic and detailed theatre designs prepared by DMD, external producers, architects and consultants.
• Review Theatre Systems Equipment (TSE) designs to verify compatibility with production objectives and operational requirements.
• Review architectural, structural, MEP and specialist engineering documentation from an operational perspective.
• Identify potential conflicts between production requirements and theatre infrastructure.
• Recommend improvements that enhance operational efficiency, safety, maintainability and show quality.

4. Production Integration

• Represent GSM during multidisciplinary design reviews and technical coordination meetings.
• Monitor the alignment between theatre systems, venue infrastructure and production requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify interface risks between base building, theatre systems and show equipment.
• Provide recommendations to DMD and project stakeholders to resolve operational or production-related issues.
• Ensure that non-standard production requirements are communicated during design development.

5. Installation Monitoring & Operational Readiness

• Monitor installation progress from a production and operational perspective.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), testing, commissioning and operational readiness reviews as the production representative.
• Review commissioning documentation, testing procedures and handover documentation.
• Verify that completed systems satisfy approved production objectives and operational requirements.
• Support operational acceptance and readiness for venue opening.

6. Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with DMD, PMU, CMD and other Sun Group departments to ensure production requirements are fully understood throughout project delivery.
• Collaborate with external producers, theatre consultants, architects, engineers and specialist suppliers.
• Support decision-making by providing technical and operational recommendations to Executive Management.
• Foster effective collaboration across multidisciplinary project teams.

7. Risk Management

• Identify technical, operational and interface risks affecting production delivery.
• Assess the operational impact of proposed design changes.
• Recommend mitigation strategies to maintain production objectives.
• Escalate significant risks, deviations or coordination issues to the CEO & Executive Producer.

8. Continuous Improvement

• Promote best practices in theatre planning, production integration and operational readiness.
• Contribute to the development of GSM standards, procedures and technical guidelines.
• Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement across future entertainment projects.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to internal teams where required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 15 years of experience in entertainment, theatre, cultural attractions, theme parks, live events, or major technical infrastructure projects.
• Significant experience managing complex procurement, tendering, and contract administration processes.
• Demonstrated experience-overseeing construction, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of complex technical systems.
• Strong understanding of theatre infrastructure and show systems, including stage machinery, rigging, audiovisual systems, lighting, show control systems, special effects, and related disciplines.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and specialized vendors.
• Strong contract management, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects in international and multicultural environments.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills in English; additional languages are an asset.
