As a Motion Planning Engineer in the ADAS Department, you will be instrumental in designing and developing advanced path planning and control algorithms that enable safe, comfortable, and efficient autonomous driving capabilities. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Perception, Control, Simulation, and Validation—as well as external partners and suppliers, to integrate motion planning solutions into production-ready systems. Your work will directly contribute to the intelligence and reliability of VINFAST's next- generation driver assistance and autonomous driving features, shaping the future of smart mobility.

- Design, implement, and optimize motion planning and control algorithms in modern C++ for ADAS and autonomous driving functions.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable C++ code following automotive software best practices
- Integrate motion planning code with perception, prediction, and control subsystems within the ADAS software stack.
- Optimize algorithm performance for embedded platforms (e.g. NVIDIA DRIVE, TI TDA4VM ) with focus on runtime efficiency and memory usage.
- Develop unit tests, simulation scenarios, and validation pipelines to ensure reliability and functional safety of planning modules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug, profile, and improve C++ implementations across simulation and real-vehicle environments.
- Contribute to software design reviews, documentation, and continuous integration to maintain high code quality and compliance with automotive standards (ISO 26262, SOTIF, ASPICE)
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field with 1+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree in a related field with 1 years of relevant experience, OR Ph.D. in Robotics, Control, Computer Science, or related discipline (research in motion planning, optimization, or autonomous systems is highly valued).
- Proven experience in C++ software development for real-time, embedded, or safety-critical systems.
- Strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++11/14/17), including STL, object-oriented design, templates, and multi-threading.
- Solid understanding of motion planning and trajectory generation algorithms (A*, RRT, PRM, lattice planners, graph search, etc.).
- Hands-on knowledge of trajectory optimization and control methods (MPC, nonlinear optimization, quadratic programming).
- Experience with optimization toolbox (acados, casadi, OSQP, qpOASES, IPOPT, etc.).
- Familiarity with simulation tools (CARLA, ROS/Gazebo).
- Competence in software development tools (Git, CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, code reviews).
- Experience with embedded platforms (NVIDIA DRIVE, TI TDA4VM, or similar) is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of automotive standards (ISO 26262, SOTIF, AUTOSAR, MISRA C++).
- Experience with sensor fusion, prediction, or vehicle control modules.
- Familiarity with AI/ML approaches for planning and decision-making.
- Previous industry experience in ADAS, robotics, or autonomous driving projects.
