Logistics Solution Design Executive (Pricing & Planning)

General Description

The purpose of this position is to be responsible for designing, lead and implement the best in class distribution solutions, covering distribution transport, cross-dock and cold chain. This candidate must have excellent communication and client management skills in order to maintain positive client relations. This candidate must be a self-starter, who is able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment. This candidate must be a team player to ensure good working cooperation between the different Business units locally and regionally.

The primary responsibility is to devise distribution network solutions and supply chain re-design for new and existing customers – including route and network design, fleet sizing and the build of detailed cost models. The candidate is also responsible for pricing these solutions, working with Operations and subcontractors to deliver them, and implementing awarded projects. All solutions and prices must be highly competitive in order to maximize conversion rates, whilst remaining deliverable at the anticipated profitability.

Specific Accountabilities

1. Solution Design

- Evaluate and support assessment of winnability of enquiries and RFQs

- Design distribution networks and delivery routes – hub-and-spoke, cross-dock, milk-run and multi-drop – for store delivery and last-mile, including cold chain where required

- Determine fleet requirements and truck sizing, and build the cost model down to cost per trip, per drop and per case

- Perform on-site analysis of customer requirements if required.

- Check costs with vendors and set the price with the Solution Design Manager, in line with the finance rules of the company

- Deal directly with customers on distribution solutions and pricing – by telephone, electronically or face to face – and respond promptly to internal or external inquiries.

- Create the solutions input required for the concept presentation for RFQ responses and customer presentations

- Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle product and service inquiries

- Calculate budgets for the implementation of new opportunities and Road Projects in general

- Present solutions to prospective and existing customers

- Implement the won projects – write the SOP, run the kick-off meeting and roll out the process with Operations, then follow up and improve the operation

2. KPI Management

- Assist the Distribution operations team in getting and providing feedback about the service delivery of the subcontractors

- Evaluate performances of sub-contractors.

- Monitor distribution KPIs (OTIF, load fill rate, cost per drop) and feed them back into future solution design

3. Support of Functions

- Support Sales for sales visit and sales presentation

- Tender & Pricing Management

4. HSSE

- Ensure that HSSE guidance is followed by staff

- Understand the HSSE policy of the company

- Follow the HSSE policy of the company

- Report near misses to Manager / Supervisor

Job Requirements

- Functional know-how in the overall understanding of business processes and independencies

- Know how in Distribution & Land/ Road Transportation – store delivery, last-mile, cross-dock and milk-run operations

- Strong Excel and pricing skill – able to build a cost model from scratch and structure a rate card

- Knowledge about markets and competitors

- Knowledge about trends and challenges for the industry

- Business acumen (understands principles and language, incl. the fundamentals of finance and profitability

- Ability to successfully conduct and manage investigations and come up with pragmatic solutions

- Excellent communication skills

- Experience in distribution and domestic Land/ Road transportation, including pricing and tender preparation

- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience, of which at least 2 years in distribution

- University Degree

- Ability to speak English & Vietnamese

Working time: From Monday to Saturday morning
