Connect Vietnamese businesses with experienced Dutch experts

PUM Netherlands Senior Experts is looking for a Local PUM Representative & Project Coordinator in Ho Chi Minh City to build relationships with local businesses, identify SMEs that could benefit from PUM's expertise, and support them throughout their journey with PUM.

You will serve as a local point of contact connecting clients, PUM experts, Project Managers, and relevant stakeholders — from identifying potential clients and understanding their business challenges to developing project scopes, coordinating project preparation, and following up after implementation.

This is a flexible, part-time and highly independent role for someone who enjoys building relationships, working with entrepreneurs, and turning promising connections into meaningful projects.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

+) Business & Partnership Development

- Proactively identify and connect with SMEs and organisations that could benefit from PUM's expertise.

- Build and maintain relationships with entrepreneurs, business associations, institutions, incubators, startup communities, and other relevant partners.

- Develop a network of potential clients across sectors such as agriculture, hospitality & tourism, education, incubators & ICT, manufacturing, F&B, and others.

- Represent PUM within the local business community and help strengthen PUM's network and presence in Ho Chi Minh City.

+) Client Needs & Project Development

- Meet with business owners and decision-makers to understand their challenges, business objectives, current situation, and expectations.

- Assess whether their needs and organisation match PUM's criteria, programmes, and available expertise.

- Collect and verify the required client information.

- Help translate the client's needs into a clear, realistic, and actionable project scope.

- Support clients in completing their applications through the PUM system.

+) Project Coordination

- Facilitate communication between the client, PUM expert, Project Manager, and other relevant stakeholders throughout the project process.

- Support the setup of online meetings and discussions between clients and PUM.

- Coordinate the necessary preparation and practical arrangements before an expert's visit.

- Stay in contact with clients and experts during the project and help resolve practical or communication issues when needed.

- Participate in relevant PUM meetings and activities as required.

+) Follow-up & Reporting

- Follow up with clients and the PUM team on agreed actions, project progress, and potential opportunities for further cooperation.

- Ensure that client information, project status, and relevant communication are kept up to date.

- Keep the Country Manager and relevant PUM colleagues informed about important developments, delays, risks, or issues requiring attention.

- Communicate proactively and in a timely manner through email, phone, Microsoft Teams, and other appropriate channels.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You might be a great fit if you:

- Have 3+ years of relevant experience in business development, partnerships, account/customer management, project coordination, SME support, entrepreneurship, or a related field.

- Enjoy meeting entrepreneurs, learning about their businesses, and understanding the challenges they face.

- Are comfortable proactively developing new clients and opportunities, rather than only coordinating existing projects.

- Have an existing network or good knowledge of the SME, startup, and wider business ecosystem in Ho Chi Minh City — a strong advantage.

- Are a good listener and know how to ask the right questions to understand a business and identify its real needs.

- Can turn business needs into clear and realistic project scopes.

- Are proactive, independent, organised, and results-oriented.

- Are comfortable coordinating multiple clients, projects, and stakeholders.

- Understand the Vietnamese business environment and culture.

- Communicate confidently in both Vietnamese and English.

- Are based in Ho Chi Minh City/ Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh)

- Can dedicate approximately 12–16 flexible hours per week, spread across several days.

- Experience with Microsoft 365 is an advantage.

We're less focused on how many years you've worked and more interested in your ability to build relationships, understand businesses, develop opportunities, and turn promising connections into successful projects.

COMPENSATION & PROJECT TARGET

This is a part-time independent contractor position with performance-based remuneration:

• €100 monthly base remuneration + €400 for each successful project
• The target is at least 2 successful projects per month.
• At 2 successful projects per month, total remuneration is approximately €10,800 per year (€900/month on average), with the potential to earn more based on the number of successful projects.

The contractor is responsible for any applicable taxes, social-security contributions, or other statutory obligations.
