Maples Capital is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Banking Associate to support the identification, evaluation, and execution of equity investment opportunities. The role involves conducting comprehensive research and analysis—including financial modeling, company due diligence, market intelligence, and industry trend tracking—to support high-conviction investment recommendations. B. Job Description:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of macroeconomic conditions, industry trends, company financials, earnings forecasts, and valuation metrics to identify potential investment opportunities.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain sophisticated financial models to support investment decisions and portfolio analysis.
- Originate, articulate, and defend new investment ideas based on thorough fundamental research.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with senior executives of current and prospective portfolio companies.
- Build a broad network of industry professionals to generate insights and enhance deal sourcing.
- Partner with portfolio managers to provide strategic, data-driven support and actionable recommendations.
- Monitor financial media, earnings releases, and market developments to identify emerging trends, risks, and investment opportunities.
- Prepare high-quality investment memos and advisory reports with clear, well-substantiated recommendations.
- Investor sourcing role: when a mandate is secured, conduct desktop research to identify strategic investors and the extended network, and build an investor list for the deal.
- At the same time, compile a list of potential investors for mandates that the firm is likely to obtain.
C. Requirements:
- Successfully passed at least CFA Level I.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Minimum of 1 – 2 year of relevant experience in Investment Banking, specifically within the Private Equity investment space.
- Proven ability to work effectively in team-oriented, high-pressure environments.
- Solid foundation in corporate finance, valuation techniques, and investment analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial research platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet).
