Job title: INVENTORY AND LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR

Summary/Objective: The Inventory & Logistics Supervisor will manage, supervise, and coordinate the activities related to stocking & replenishing goods, picking product and preparing for shipment, and ensuring that Samtecs Inventory System is operational.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities
- Responsible to manage, lead and supervise a team to achieve the organizational objectives.
- Be the area owner and accountable for the area / department performance metrics such as safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Provide support to all inventory and traffic locations Globally maintaining high service levels.
- Maintain excellent interdepartmental communications, including with manufacturing, compliance, logistics, supply chain, and global inventory and traffic teams.
- Respond to the various departments within the organization who may need information regarding vendors, products, deliveries, etc.
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
- Issue written and oral instructions.
- Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Study and standardize procedures to improve storage, workflow, and efficiency of workers.
- Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
- Interview and hire new employees.
- Confer with other managers in the distribution center to ensure coordination of other warehouse activities.
The responsibilities as defined are intended to serve as a general guideline for this position. Associates may be asked to perform additional tasks depending on strengths and capabilities
Required Experience
- 7+ Years Experience in Inventory or Logistics.
- 3+ Years Experience in managing & leading a large staff; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to do multiple things simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.
- Communication and Organizational skills are required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to learn new systems quickly as this position will be using home-grown systems to perform daily tasks and duties.
- Must be customer service oriented and have attention to detail.
- Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.
Education
- Bachelors degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent work experience.
Training required
- On the job training as appropriate.
