Job Description

Summary:

At Swan & Maclaren, one of the most established firms with over 130 years of heritage, the Intermediate Architectural Designer supports senior architects in delivering high-quality projects from concept to completion. Key responsibilities include preparing design proposals, developing drawings and 3D models, coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance, and assisting with project documentation and administration. This role requires creativity, technical skills, and collaboration to create innovative and lasting architectural solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in project works from inception to completion
  • Create innovative high-quality architectural designs and design solutions including conceptualization, preparation of plans/ graphics/ documentation/write-ups, specifications and all other project related materials
  • Work with internal & external stakeholders e.g. clients, consultants, contractors and workers on various design issues, submissions and the execution of the site works
  • Monitor project progress to ensure projects are carried out within contract agreement and schedule
  • Attend project / technical / consultant meetings where required
  • Any other duties as and when assigned e.g. Design competition
  • Checks plans and submissions against statutory requirements.
  • Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models, and visual presentations using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp,D5-Render, Rhino, and Adobe Suite.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (architecture, ID, MEP, structure) and support project documentation packages (DA, DD, CD).
  • Assist in site analysis, material research, and design development with attention to functionality, aesthetics, sustainability, and client requirements.
  • Review local codes and coordinate with local authorities and submission architects for compliance.
  • Support tender and construction documentation and respond to RFIs from site where necessary.
  • Co-ordinates and monitors follow up to authority

Requirements:

  • Degree in Architecture from a recognized tertiary institution
  • Only Vietnamese
  • At least 3-5 years ofworking experience
  • Eligibility for Professional Architectural accreditation is an advantage
  • Good project management, excellent communication, and coordination skills
  • Well versed in Revit/ArchiCad/BIM, Autocad, Sketchup, PhotoShop and Office software. Knowledge of Revit is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of local Vietnamese regulations and submission processes is an advantage.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to communicate effectively in the written, oral and graphic form
  • Able to multi-task and with good time management
  • Conversant with Local Authorities regulations and compliances
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering quality work on time
