Job Description

The HR Manager for Southeast Asia will oversee and support HR operations across our Southeast Asia offices. The individual will collaborate with the leadership teams in each office to develop and implement HR strategies that support business growth and a positive employee experience. This role involves administering employee policies, recruitment and onboarding processes, managing employee relations, payroll, employee learning and development, and ensuring compliance with local labor laws. This role will be based out of our Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam office and will support our Southeast Asia offices and employees.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure effective HR operations for all Southeast Asia offices, with a focus on local laws, regulations, and compliance standards in each country (Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia).
  • Employment contract management, including contract preparation, terms review, arranging signature with employees and contract renewal according to timeline. Ensure appropriate individuals are consulted prior to issuing contract renewals.
  • Manage talent acquisition strategies and initiatives across Southeast Asia, working with local and regional teams to attract, recruit, and retain top talent. Partner with the corporate HR team on global talent acquisition processes and initiatives.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and provide support throughout the hiring process, from job description creation to candidate onboarding.
  • Process required visa, work permit, and TRC applications, and track/follow-up on renewals for Expatriates and their families.
  • Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and provide guidance on company policies and processes.
  • Foster a culture of open communication and support in handling employee issues or disputes, ensuring resolutions are in compliance with local labor laws.
  • Manage employee benefits programs including enrollment and answering employee questions. Lead the benefit renewal process.
  • Benchmark employee compensation and benefits across each office/country. Provide recommendations and data to VP, HR.
  • Coordinate various employee engagement and communication activities, including holiday parties, company trips, and other teambuilding activities.
  • Partner with the Sr. Manager, HR in the China office to implement and manage regional learning and development initiatives to build skills and enhance employee performance.
  • Audit and maintain HRIS to ensure employee information, pay rate, cost center, job change, special payment, employee status, etc. are accurate. Prepare HR related reports as needed/requested.
  • Manage the payroll process and coordinate with external accounting firms for current month's payroll preparation
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms and employees regarding Personal Income Tax finalization documents.
  • Manage and track employee requests for Leave of Absence, time off, etc. Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Use HR metrics and analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as employee turnover, time-to-fill, and employee satisfaction.
  • Provide HR reports to leadership, including insights and recommendations for improving HR operations and employee experience.
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects as required to support the overall HR objectives and contribute to the success of the organization.
  • All other related duties as assigned.

What to Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or related field. Law degree/legal experience a plus.
  • 5+ years previous experience in a similar Human Resources position, with solid knowledge of local labor laws and best practices.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in both English and Vietnamese.
  • Previous experience working in a multinational environment, including with employees in Thailand and Indonesia preferred.
  • Position requires travel to other Asian countries and the United States.
