Job Description
Position: Hospitality Development & Pre-opening Intern
Working Location: Ho Chi Minh City-based and frequently travel to Ha Long
Report to: Director of Operations & Finance
Be part of it from the beginning
There's something special about joining a resort before the first guest arrives. The ideas, the decisions, the moving parts — and the team coming together to make it happen.
We're preparing to open Sailing Club Signature Resort Ha Long Bay (targeted for April 2027) and looking for someone curious, capable, and ready to get involved. You'll work with our leadership team in Ho Chi Minh City, spend time on the ground in Ha Long, and help shape how we approach future openings across Sailing Club.
We'll give you time, guidance, and room to contribute. Bring your questions, your initiative, and a willingness to get stuck in.
What you'll do
Help keep the opening on track
- Join corporate and resort planning meetings
- Maintain critical paths, milestones, action registers, and progress updates
- Follow up with teams across departments
- Support recruitment, training, commercial preparation, and operational readiness — including time on site at key stages
Build our next opening playbook
- Help develop a corporate pre-opening manual and practical playbook for General Managers and Executive Committees
- Create clear responsibilities, procedures, checklists, and templates
- Capture the Ha Long story as it unfolds — decisions, challenges, what worked, and what we'd do differently — and turn those lessons into useful guidance for future teams
Make knowledge easier to use
- Organise approved project information, processes, and lessons into an AI-powered pre-opening knowledge base (working with our Finance Manager and Data Engineer)
- Experiment with how AI can support research, documentation, coordination, and reporting — always checking results with the people who know the work
- You don't need to be an AI expert. Genuine enthusiasm and a willingness to experiment and learn are essential
Who we're looking for
- Final-year university student or recent graduate
- Ideally from RMIT University, Kaiser University, Hoa Sen University, Van Lang University, or a comparable international university
- Studying Hospitality Management, Business Management, International Business, Project Management, or a related field
You're organised, notice the details, and follow through. You communicate clearly in written and spoken English, enjoy working with people, and ask questions when you want to understand something. You can take initiative and bring structure to information, even when there's a lot going on.
Most of all, you're interested in hospitality, how businesses grow, and what AI can help us do better.
Previous hotel experience isn't essential. Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn are.
The practical details
- Paid, full-time internship for a minimum of eight months
- Based at our Ho Chi Minh City head office
- Start as soon as possible
- Travel required, including longer stays in Ha Long around opening (all approved business-related travel and accommodation covered by SCLG)
- We support university internship assessments and provide a completion reference based on performance
- For the right person, we'd love to explore a permanent role after the internship
